We are glad to join you in prayer for your mother's deliverance from alcohol and cigarettes. It is important that you have requested prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. There is power in the name of Jesus. Your request demonstrates your faith and understanding of this vital truth.
Firstly, let us address the issue at hand. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:12, All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything, and again in 1 Corinthians 10:31, Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Alcohol and cigarette addiction are not glorifying to God and can have a significant negative impact on both physical and spiritual health, and alcohol can lead to drunkenness which is a sin. Let us pray together with WEB, Ephesians 5:18, Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, pleading for the deliverance of our dear ### who is bound by the chains of alcohol and cigarette addiction. We pray that You would set her free from this bondage, in Jesus' name.
Lord, we ask that You would open her eyes to see that these substances are not only harmful to her body but also grieve Your holy spirit. Help her understand she is made to glorify You and walk in Your Ways. May Your Spirit convict her heart and lead her to repentance and restoration. Help her to be filled with the Holy Spirit and not the spirit of drunkenness.
Father, we also pray for her complete healing and restoration—both physically and spiritually. Help her to live in Jesus Christ name every day. Give her the courage to walk away from her old life and live in the fullness of Your love and grace. By the Blood of Jesus Christ, and in Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your mother and trusting in the Lord for her complete deliverance. Remind her of God's unfailing love and faithfulness, and encourage her to seek God's strength in her journey to freedom and restoration. With continued prayer and dependence on the Holy Spirit, victory can be hers.
Lastly, let us remember Galatians 6:9, And let us not be weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don't give up. As you stand in faith with your mother, trust that God is working even when you do not see immediate results. Be persistent in prayer and unwavering in your belief in God's power to transform lives.
