I need prayer for my spiritual gifts

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I am someone who does content creating on tiktok mostly, a tiny bit on YouTube, not long ago started that, but have been doing tiktok for like 6 months now. Yesterday, I started diving into spiritual gifts & unsure of all my spiritual gifts, so i need clarity on what other ones I have. I know I have the spiritual gifts of teaching & intercession, & maybe even service, as I've been operating in those. But the enemy attacks when operating in spiritual gifts, so i need to help to overcome his attacks. Some ways he attacks me is pride, isolation (struggling to go back to church atm), seeking validation & sometimes putting my spiritual gifts above God. I would like prayer for someone to intercess for me, for me to learn from others (one of the areas I'm very prideful in, & I really dont like that). I would also like prayer for hearing God's voice (important for my spiritual gifts, He gives me ideas for teaching & who to pray for & what to pray for that person) & getting back into quiet time with Him & for me to put Him first always. Thank you so much for anyone who prays for me in this. If you have a prayer request, you can reply to this, but please pray for me too. God bless you

We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for your desire to walk in the spiritual gifts He has given you. It is a beautiful thing to see a believer eager to operate in the gifts of the Spirit, as Scripture tells us, "But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all" (1 Corinthians 12:7 WEB). Your acknowledgment of teaching, intercession, and possibly service is a wonderful starting point, and we rejoice that the Lord is revealing these gifts in your life. However, we must also address the spiritual attacks you are facing, for the enemy seeks to distort and pervert what God intends for good.

First, we must rebuke the pride, isolation, and seeking of validation that the enemy has used to hinder your walk. Pride is a dangerous snare, as Proverbs 16:18 (WEB) warns, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." The enemy would love nothing more than for you to become so focused on your gifts that you elevate them above the Giver. We must remind you that spiritual gifts are not for our own glory but for the edification of the body of Christ and the magnification of God’s name. Jesus Himself said, "He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him" (John 7:18 WEB). Your gifts are tools to point others to Christ, not to draw attention to yourself.

Isolation is another tactic of the enemy, for he knows that iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17 WEB). The body of Christ is designed to function together, and when we withdraw, we become vulnerable to deception and discouragement. We strongly encourage you to return to fellowship with other believers, even if it feels difficult. Hebrews 10:24-25 (WEB) exhorts us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." The enemy wants you to believe you can walk this path alone, but God never intended for us to do so.

We also lift up your struggle with seeking validation through your content creation. While it is not inherently wrong to create content that glorifies God, we must examine our motives. Are you seeking the approval of man or the approval of God? Galatians 1:10 (WEB) asks, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ." The moment we begin to measure our worth by likes, shares, or comments, we have shifted our focus from God’s opinion to man’s. We pray that the Lord would purify your heart in this area and that you would find your validation in Him alone.

Now, let us pray for the clarity you seek regarding your spiritual gifts. The Lord delights in revealing Himself and His purposes to His children. James 1:5 (WEB) assures us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We pray that the Holy Spirit would illuminate the gifts He has placed within you and that you would walk in them with humility and confidence. We also pray for protection over your mind and heart as you operate in these gifts, that the enemy would have no foothold in your life.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gifts You have placed within this sister in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would give her clarity and wisdom as she seeks to identify and operate in the spiritual gifts You have given her. Reveal to her the fullness of what You have called her to do, and let her walk in confidence, knowing that it is Your power at work within her.

We rebuke the spirit of pride that has sought to exalt itself in her life. Lord, we ask that You would break its power and replace it with humility. Teach her to seek Your glory above all else and to find her worth in You alone. We also rebuke the spirit of isolation and ask that You would draw her back into fellowship with Your people. Surround her with godly men and women who will sharpen her, encourage her, and hold her accountable.

Father, we pray for her content creation. Let it be a tool that points others to You and not to herself. Purify her motives, Lord, and let her seek Your approval above all else. We ask that You would guard her heart from the temptation to seek validation from man and that she would find her identity in Christ alone.

Lord, we pray for her ability to hear Your voice clearly. Quiet the noise of the world and the distractions of the enemy so that she may discern Your leading. Give her ideas for teaching that align with Your Word and burden her heart to intercede for those You place on her heart. Restore her quiet time with You, Lord, and help her to prioritize Your presence above all else.

We pray for a covering of protection over her life, that the enemy would not be able to steal, kill, or destroy what You are doing in and through her. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her walk in the victory that is already hers through Christ Jesus.

Lastly, we ask that You would raise up intercessors to stand in the gap for her. Surround her with prayer warriors who will lift her up before Your throne, that she may be strengthened and encouraged in her walk with You.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, for it is through Scripture that we are transformed and renewed in our minds (Romans 12:2 WEB). As you seek to hear God’s voice, test every spirit against the truth of His Word (1 John 4:1 WEB). Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. Remember, the enemy’s attacks are a sign that you are operating in something powerful for the Kingdom. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9 WEB).

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of lifting up the name of Jesus in all that you do. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). As you create content, let the name of Jesus be exalted, for He alone is worthy of all praise. If you have not already, we encourage you to share the message of salvation through faith in Christ, for it is the most important message anyone can ever hear. Romans 10:9 (WEB) tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Let your content be a light that points others to the hope found in Christ alone.

Thank you for sharing this so openly with us. It takes real humility to name pride and ask for help, and we are honored to pray with you through these things.

You already see that the enemy tries to twist something good, your desire to serve God through your gifts, and turn it toward pride, isolation, and a craving for validation. That battle is not unusual when we step out in faith, and you are not alone in it. One truth we hold onto is that the fruit of the Spirit is a far truer measure of our walk with Christ than any specific gift. As you keep your heart close to Jesus, His love, peace, and self-control will quietly grow, and the gifts will find their right place without so much pressure to define them.

We want to gently encourage you to take one concrete step back toward fellowship. Your struggle to go to church is real, but isolation only feeds the very things you are fighting. Even a simple visit this Sunday, no pressure to perform, can break the pattern and open a door for learning from others, which you said you long for. It’s hard to be prideful when we’re sitting humbly among people who can teach us. If you can, let a trusted believer know you need someone to walk alongside you, to intercede and help you grow.

As you rebuild your quiet time with the Lord, think of it less as trying harder and more as training. Small, consistent moments with Him, even a few unhurried minutes in His Word, are far better than big resolutions. Over time, those small habits sharpen your ability to hear His voice for ideas and direction. He is not in a hurry with you.

We pray with you now: Father, thank you for this one who loves you and wants to serve you with pure motives. Protect them from the enemy’s attacks that twist sincere desires into pride and isolation. Help them to step back into the church family you have for them, even when it feels awkward. Quiet their heart to listen for your voice, and let your Spirit sort out every spiritual gift in your perfect timing. Most of all, draw them so close to Jesus that He becomes first in everything, and every gift is held with open hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You speak of spiritual gifts, and I rejoice that you have a sense of what the Spirit has wrought in you. Yet I must press this upon your heart: the first and unspeakable Gift is Christ Himself. All other gifts flow from Him, and if you would operate in them aright, you must be rooted and grounded in the Giver. The enemy ever attacks where blessing abounds, and you have discerned his devices, pride, isolation, seeking the applause of men, and a subtle elevation of the gifts above the God who bestowed them. This is no small matter. It is the old serpent whispering, “You shall be as gods,” and it must be crushed by the heel of the cross.

You feel the pull away from the assembling of the saints. Hear then the voice of the Lord, calling as He did in the garden: “Where are you?” Is it not pride that makes you shrink from the fellowship, as though you could walk alone? The Church is God’s building, every stone alive with His Spirit, and He has thrown up a rampart about her. To isolate yourself is to step outside the shelter and invite the wolf. Go back, I implore you, not as a teacher only, but as a learner. You admit your pride resists instruction; bring that very neck to the altar and be humbled. What have you that you did not receive? Let the least of the brethren instruct you, and you shall find wisdom.

You long to hear God’s voice clearly. Then return to your quiet time with a heart that first hearkens. We cannot expect Him to hear our voice if we will not hear His. The Word is the chief means; read it not as a content creator mining for material, but as a starving soul begging bread. The Spirit who gave you ideas for teaching and intercession will not speak in the whirlwind of busyness, but in the still small voice of waiting. Put Him first, not your platform, not your analytics, not your own name, and the gifts will find their proper place, for they are to be servants, not masters.

I will intercede for you, that the Lord would revive His work in you. May He heal that feverish need for validation, and touch you as He did Peter’s mother-in-law, so that you rise from the bed of self-regard to minister in holy obscurity. Remember, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, but if you exalt them above the Giver, you build with wood, hay, and stubble. Let everything be tested by fire. God is our refuge, not only in the great tempest but in these daily trials of pride and loneliness. Flee to Him, and you shall find a fountain that never fails, superabundant grace for your every necessity. May you be found watching for His Son, and not for the flickering lights of human praise.
