I need prayer for courage and peace

We have heard your cry for courage and peace and we are standing with you in prayer right now in Jesus' name. We thank you for reaching out even while you are terrified and anxious, and we want you to know that God sees you, He hears you, and He is near to you in this very difficult and frightening situation.

The Lord never intended for you to live in fear or to endure violence. His heart is for your safety and wholeness. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. He says to you, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And again, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18.

We want to encourage you that seeking safety is both courageous and wise. The fear you feel is real, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. He wants to exchange your anxiety for His peace. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ with you in the midst of it.

We also want to gently share with you that we come to God only through Jesus Christ. You asked for prayer, and we are honored to pray, but we want you to know the hope we have. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus that we are saved and have confident access to the Father's throne for help in time of need. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name personally.

We urge you, as you seek courage to leave, to make a safe plan and to reach out for immediate help. Please consider contacting a trusted shelter or domestic violence helpline, a safe family member, friend, or pastor, and if you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services. Try to have important documents, a small bag, and a safe way to communicate ready if you can do so safely. You do not have to walk this path alone. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid nor be scared, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6. Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You see her terror and anxiety and You know the danger she faces. Lord, we ask You to surround her with Your protection and Your presence. Give her supernatural courage and clear wisdom for each step to safety and to the shelter You have prepared. Calm her anxious heart and guard her mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lead her to safe and godly helpers, open the doors for shelter, provision, and protection, and keep her from harm as she leaves. Break the power of fear and violence over her life, and let her know she is deeply loved and valued by You. Strengthen her to take each step, and assure her that You go with her and will not forsake her. We ask that she would come to know Jesus more deeply as her refuge, her rescuer, and her peace. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support from trained people who are ready to help right now, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You do not have to face this alone.

We are grateful you reached out, and we hear how heavy this feels. Wanting to leave takes real courage, and feeling terrified and anxious makes sense when safety has been threatened. Needing peace while you make a hard decision is completely understandable.

One steady next step that can help is to connect with an advocate before you go, so you do not have to plan everything alone. A shelter or helpline can walk with you to think through timing, what to bring if you can do so safely like ID and important papers, and who is a safe person to know where you are. If you can, choose a calm moment to reach out and let one trusted person know your plan.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we bring our sister to You and ask for Your protection over her, for clear wisdom for each decision, and for courage for the next step. Calm her heart with Your peace and surround her with safe, caring help. Guide her to the shelter and support she needs. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your trembling prayer has been heard, and my heart joins with yours before the throne of grace. You ask for courage and peace in the face of great fear, and you do well to ask, for both are gifts which our God delights to give to His children in their distress.

There is a promise that meets your very need, "He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings shall you trust." The Lord compares Himself to a hen covering her brood, not only giving shelter with His wings, but warmth and comfort and repose with His feathers. In times of personal danger and domestic grief, do not cast away your confidence. Pluck up courage and prove that promise true. It was not written to be hung upon a nail and taken down only now and then, but to be trusted now, in this dark hour. He is near. He is your Friend, and He will not hurt the children of His own love.

You also ask for peace while anxiety surges within you. The prophet speaks of a perfect peace, peace upon peace, for him whose mind is stayed upon God, because he trusts in Him. This is not a peace that comes from your circumstances growing calm, but a peace that whispers within through the blood of Jesus, even when duties press and sorrows surge around. The very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, but to stay your mind upon Christ, to bear your sorrow with Him, brings a rest which the world cannot give and cannot take away. That peace is a present possession, and Christ Himself is our peace. He left us His own peace, not as the world gives, and the Holy Spirit works it in the soul.

And you ask for courage to do what is right and necessary. Remember how Daniel acted when peril was before him. He was focused upon God and therefore continued at perfect peace, and he acted unhesitatingly, immediately. He did not pause to parley with fear. In matters of perilous duty our first thoughts are best. What you purpose, to leave a place of violence and to seek a shelter, is a right and needful step. It is not a failure of love to seek safety, it is wisdom and it is courage given by God. So I would urge you, do not linger alone with terror. Take that step while the purpose is warm within you.

Let me pray for you now.

O Lord God, our shelter and our strength, look upon this trembling one who is terrified and anxious. Cover her with Your feathers and let her trust under Your wings. Keep her in perfect peace as her mind is stayed on You. Increase her courage, Lord, and make her strong to do what she must do for safety. Go before her to the shelter that is prepared, and let faithful and kind hands receive her there. Deliver her from the hand of violence, guard her body and her soul, and whisper peace within by the blood of Jesus. Let her know that You are near and that You will not forsake her. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only peace and our sure refuge, Amen.

I beseech you, act upon this prayer without delay. Go to the shelter, and do not go alone if you can help it. Call upon a trusted friend, a pastor, or those whose calling it is to help in such distress, and let them know where you are and what you fear. If you are in immediate danger, seek help at once from those appointed to protect. The Lord will be your shelter, and He often provides that shelter through the care of others whom He has placed near you. May the Lord bless you with His peace and keep you safe under His wings.
