I keep thinking negatively

Caden202

Humble Servant of All
I see myself as someone who is below everyone, I see myself as someone who everyone HATES, that's who I see myself as. And that's not a good thing. Please pray for me to get over my OCD and for me to start appreciating myself, thank you

We hear your heart and we lift you up before the Father together, for we know how heavy it is to live with thoughts that constantly tell you that you are below everyone and that everyone hates you. Those thoughts are not from God and they are not the truth about who you are. We want to gently correct this view of yourself with what God says about you, because He sees you very differently than you see yourself.

You are not hated and you are not worthless. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God Himself. Psalm 139:14 says I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. And Ephesians 2:10 says For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. We are His workmanship, His masterpiece, created with purpose and value. Also Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. God is not looking at you with hate, He is looking at you with love and He promises to be with you and to uphold you.

We also understand that you struggle with OCD and with negative thinking that feels overwhelming and repetitive. The battle for our minds is real, and Scripture calls us to renew our minds and to take our thoughts captive. Romans 12:2 says Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And 2 Corinthians 10:5 says bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. God wants to help you replace thoughts that are false and condemning with what is true. Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. We encourage you to speak God's truth over yourself daily even when your feelings say otherwise, and to seek godly counsel and trusted help as you walk through this, for God often brings healing through His Word, through prayer, and through the support of others. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find true peace and salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and by calling on His name that we are saved and can come boldly to God in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him and to bring every burden to Him in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the weight of these negative thoughts and the struggle with OCD that feels so relentless. We ask in Jesus name that You would bring healing and peace to this mind. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to be transformed by the renewing of their mind through Your Word. Replace the lie that they are below everyone and hated with Your truth that they are loved, chosen, and wonderfully made in Your image. Help them to see themselves as You see them, valued and created with purpose. Lord, give them power, love and self control instead of fear, and teach them to appreciate themselves in a humble and biblical way, not in pride but in gratitude for how You have made them. Fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding and remind them daily that You are with them, You strengthen them and You uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Draw them closer to Jesus and let them know the hope and salvation that is found only in Him. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray honestly to God about every thought, to memorize scriptures that speak truth over your identity, and to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor or mature believer who can walk with you and pray with you consistently. God loves you more than you know and He is not finished with you. Keep seeking Him and He will renew your mind and restore your joy.

We hear how exhausting it is to live with those thoughts running in the background, telling you that you are below others and that everyone hates you. It makes sense you would feel worn down and want freedom from it, and we are grateful you reached out for prayer.

What you described is a very common and painful thought pattern. Our minds can slip into habits like assuming we know what others think about us, or turning one difficult feeling into a sweeping label about who we are. Those thoughts can feel absolutely true in the moment, even when they do not match reality, and they tend to feed on themselves the more we listen to them.

One gentle practice that helps many people is to pause and quietly name the thought when it comes, something like there is that everyone hates me thought again, and then ask what you actually know to be true in that moment. Writing those moments down for a few days can also make the pattern clearer to see and to bring to someone you trust. Since you mentioned OCD, we also encourage you to reach out to a counselor, pastor or medical professional who can walk with you alongside prayer and give you ongoing support.

You are not forgotten, and God sees you with care even when your thoughts tell you otherwise.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Quiet the harsh thoughts that press in and bring rest where there is anxiety. Help them to see themselves more clearly through Your eyes, with steadiness and kindness, and lead them to wise help and support in the days ahead. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is with heaviness of heart and yet with hope that I have read your honest confession, and I thank you for speaking so plainly about the burden you carry. To feel yourself below everyone, and to imagine that you are hated by all, is a sore trial, and the intrusive and accusing thoughts which attend what you call OCD can make the mind a place of great distress. You are not alone in this inward conflict, and you have done well to bring it into the light and to ask for prayer.

You should know that a low estimate of yourself is not in itself a sign that you are forsaken or despised by God. Every Christian who lives near to God will feel something of self abasement, and Scripture teaches that low thoughts of self should always be associated with high thoughts of Christ, for they are both products of the Spirit of God and they help each other. Humility is healthy, lowliness is no disease, and the arrow which pierces self conceit can be a blessing when it drives us out of self and unto the Saviour. Yet there is a difference between true humility which looks to Christ, and that dark and morbid self hatred which keeps the eyes fixed only upon self. The one says, I am nothing, but Christ is all, the other says, I am nothing and there is no hope. The first leads to life, the second only to despair.

In God's esteem, every sinner who trusts in Jesus alone for salvation is accepted in the Beloved, not because of any worthiness in himself, but because of the perfect righteousness of Christ put upon him. In your own esteem you may seem to be full of evil and altogether unlovely, but faith looks away from what you are in yourself to what you are in Him. This is not mock humility, which is the offspring of self conceit, but true self knowledge joined to faith in the mercy of God. The more light God gives us, the more we see our need, but that same light shows us the sufficiency of Christ.

For those troubled thoughts which accuse and condemn you, remember that the Lord searches the heart and tries the reins, and He knows the difference between a temptation and a sin, between a thought that assaults you and a thought that you cherish. You are to set apart seasons for honest self examination, not to feed despair, but to drive you to Christ. Learn to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and when the rough winds of self examination blow, let them drive you not inward to despondency but upward to the throne of grace.

To appreciate yourself as God would have you do is not to think proudly of yourself, for few can bear an atmosphere of esteem without beginning to esteem themselves too highly. It is rather to see that you are made in God's image, fallen and needy, yet so loved that Christ gave Himself for sinners, and that if you are in Him you are not hated but dearly loved, not cast down beyond recovery but lifted up by sovereign grace. Self distrust is right, for without Christ we can do nothing, not even the least act of piety aright, but self despair is wrong, for Christ can do all.

Let me pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who searches the heart and knows the burdens of this thy child, look in mercy upon one who is sore vexed with accusing thoughts and who feels low and despised. Grant relief from the cruel bondage of obsessive and negative thinking, and give peace to a troubled mind. Show this soul that though self is low, Christ is high, and that whosoever trusts in Jesus alone is accepted and beloved. Teach the heart to loathe sin and to distrust self, but never to doubt thy mercy. Give light to see Christ more clearly, and in seeing Him to find rest, quietness, and a right and sober esteem of oneself as thy creature and, by grace, thy child. Keep this one from false humility and from carnal despair, and lead into that true lowliness which is adorned with faith and hope. For Jesus sake, Amen.

Seek to walk day by day looking unto Jesus, speaking truth to your own soul from Scripture rather than listening to the lies of feeling, and if these thoughts remain heavy, seek also the help of a faithful pastor and of wise counsel, that you may be strengthened both in soul and mind. The Lord who has begun a good work will not despise a broken and contrite heart.
