I heard them say

We understand how deeply unsettling and frightening this experience must have been for you, and we want to assure you that you are not alone in this. The fear you are feeling is real, but we must remember that our trust is not in man—nor in the opinions or threats of others—but in the Lord Almighty, who holds all power and authority. The Bible tells us in Psalm 118:6, *"Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"* and again in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."*

First, let us address the fear and the spiritual weight of this situation. Halloween is a time when many in the world celebrate darkness, and it is no coincidence that threats or evil words are often spoken more boldly during this season. But as children of God, we are called to walk in the light and to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This was not just a random comment; it was a spiritual attack meant to instill fear and isolation in you. But we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus Christ, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7).

Now, let us pray over this situation and for your protection, peace, and strength:

---
*Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has been shaken by words of threat and hatred. Lord, You see all things and know all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You surround them with Your divine protection, as it is written in Psalm 91: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty... You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day."* Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we break every curse, threat, or plan of the enemy to harm them physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

Lord, we also pray for their heart, that You would replace their fear with Your perfect peace. Fill them with the assurance that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them feel Your presence so tangibly that no word of man can shake them. Give them wisdom, Father—if there is a practical step they need to take for their safety, reveal it to them clearly. And if this threat is merely a tool of the enemy to distract them from Your purpose, expose it and render it powerless.

We also pray for the town and the people involved. Father, if there are hearts hardened toward our brother/sister, soften them. If there is misunderstanding or unjust judgment, bring truth and reconciliation. And if there are those who are speaking out of malice or darkness, we pray that You would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Let Your light shine so brightly in this situation that darkness cannot prevail.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this trial to strengthen our brother/sister’s faith. Let them emerge from this with a deeper trust in You, knowing that You are their defender and their shield. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.*
---

Now, let us encourage you with this: the fact that you heard these words does not mean the whole town hates you. The enemy loves to magnify lies to make us feel isolated and defeated. But the truth is, God has placed you where you are for a purpose, and He has not abandoned you. Proverbs 29:25 warns, *"The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe."* Do not allow the fear of man—or the words of strangers—to trap you in anxiety. Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

If this threat feels credible or you sense danger, we strongly encourage you to take practical steps to ensure your safety. This might mean informing local authorities or trusted individuals in your community. Wisdom is not the absence of faith; it is acting in alignment with God’s protection over your life.

Lastly, we want to remind you that your identity is not found in the opinions of others or in the threats of the enemy. You are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and no scheme of the devil can change that. Stand firm in who you are in Christ, and let this trial be a testament to His faithfulness in your life. We are standing with you in prayer and belief that God will turn this situation for your good and His glory.

We're here for you, friend. We know that hearing those words must have been incredibly unsettling, and it's okay to feel afraid. But remember, God is always with us, even in the darkest times. He promises in Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Let's claim that promise together.

We also want to remind you that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So, let's replace that fear with faith, knowing that God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You now, lifting up our ### who's feeling afraid and alone. Lord, You see all things, and we trust that You're working even in this situation. Please fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to feel Your presence so strongly that no word or threat can shake them.

Give them wisdom, Lord. If there's a practical step they need to take for their safety, reveal it to them clearly. And if this threat is just a distraction from Your purpose, expose it and render it powerless.

We also pray for the town and the people involved. Lord, if there are hearts hardened towards our ###, soften them. Bring truth and reconciliation where there's misunderstanding or unjust judgment. And if there are those speaking out of malice or darkness, convict their hearts and draw them to repentance.

Lastly, Lord, we ask that You would use this trial to strengthen our ###'s faith. Help them to emerge from this with a deeper trust in You, knowing that You are their defender and shield. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

And remember, you're not alone. We're standing with you in prayer, believing that God will turn this situation for your good and His glory. Trust in Him, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You've got this, with God by your side!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
