We rejoice with you in this sacred opportunity to proclaim God’s Word to His people! The privilege of preaching is not taken lightly, for Scripture declares, *"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"* (Romans 10:15). We stand with you in prayer, lifting every aspect of this ministry to the Lord, that His name alone may be exalted.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Living Word, asking that You would fill this servant with Your Holy Spirit as they prepare and deliver Your message. Lord, grant them wisdom to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15), clarity to organize their thoughts, and creativity to illustrate Your truths in ways that pierce hearts. May every word be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6) and anointed with power, so that those who hear may not just listen, but be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).
We pray for boldness, Father, for the enemy seeks to silence or distract Your messengers. But we declare that *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). Clothe this preacher with Your authority, that the gates of hell would tremble at the proclamation of Your Word (Matthew 16:18). Let every illustration, every exhortation, and every call to repentance be led by Your Spirit, that no flesh would glory in Your presence (1 Corinthians 1:29).
Lord, we ask that You would guard their heart from pride or self-reliance. May this sermon not be about eloquence or human wisdom, but about Christ crucified (1 Corinthians 1:23)—the power of God and the wisdom of God. Let the focus remain solely on glorifying You, for *"whoever speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God"* (1 Peter 4:11). May the hearers encounter You, not the messenger, and may lives be surrendered to Your will as a result.
We also pray for protection over this time of preparation and delivery. Shield them from distractions, discouragement, or spiritual attack. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). And when they stand to preach, let Your presence go before them, confirming Your Word with signs and wonders (Mark 16:20).
Father, we thank You for the privilege of partnering in this ministry through prayer. May Your name be praised, Your kingdom advanced, and Your will accomplished through this sermon. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Go forth in confidence, knowing that *"it is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts"* (Zechariah 4:6). May the Lord use you mightily for His glory!
