Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and I have been praying for you. Thank you for reaching out so honestly about your fear and the high, racing thoughts you are experiencing. You are not forgotten. God sees you right now and He hears you when you call on Him.
The Lord says that His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to bring you to a good and expected end. Even when you feel captive to fear and your own thoughts feel overwhelming, He has not forgotten you. He knows the end from the beginning, and His ways and His thoughts are so much higher than ours. He does not do things hoping they are right, He knows what is right. You can call upon Him and pray to Him, and He promises to listen.
All that God wants to give you is found in Jesus. Grace and mercy and peace come from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. He who has the Son has peace, has love, has joy. It is all wrapped up in Him. God has nothing for you apart from Jesus, but in Jesus you can have peace with God, no longer at war with Him or running from Him, and you can also know the peace of God in your heart day by day.
The Bible gives a beautiful promise that God will keep in perfect peace the person whose mind is fixed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus told His disciples that He leaves His peace with them and He gives His peace to them. That peace comes as you keep your eyes on Him and trust Him. God has ordained peace for His people because He wants you to live in peace and to know His peace.
There is a kind of fear the Bible talks about that is not a phobia or a tormenting dread. It is a reverent respect for God, a desire to honor Him and to hate what is evil. That reverence is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. The tormenting, sudden fear that makes your bones shake and your thoughts race is not from Him. When that sudden fear comes, you do not have to be overcome by it, for the Lord Himself will be your confidence and will keep you steady.
So I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I bring this dear one before You. You see the fear and the high thoughts that feel so heavy. Show Your grace and mercy and pour out Your peace. Quiet the mind and calm the heart. Let there be the deep assurance of being right with You through Jesus, and the daily guarding of heart and mind by Your peace. Be strength and protection and deliverance. Help this loved one to keep their mind stayed on You and to trust You more and more. Surround them with caring help, with family, pastors, and trusted medical help that can walk with them faithfully, and lead them step by step into Your good purpose. Let them know they are not alone and not forgotten, for Your thoughts toward them are for peace. Amen.
Keep calling on the Lord through the day and night, even with short simple prayers. Keep your mind turned toward Jesus as much as you are able, and reach out right away to trusted people near you for support and care. If fear feels overwhelming or you feel unsafe, please go quickly to a family member, a pastor, a doctor or a safe place for help. God is indeed great, and He is near to you as you seek Him.
