We have read your request and we are standing with you in prayer right now, for we hear how afraid you are and how overwhelming and high your thoughts feel. We want you to know that God sees you, He hears you, and He is near to you in this fear, and you are not alone. You said God is great and that is true, He is great in power and in mercy and He cares deeply for you.

The Bible tells us that fear does not come from God. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. And we are told to bring our fears to Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to His promise when He says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And again I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4.

We understand that your thoughts feel very high and racing and that schizophrenia can make the mind feel out of control and frightening. God understands the mind He created and He can bring calm where there is confusion. We are taught to bring every thought to Him, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7. He is not distant from your suffering. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18.

We noticed you spoke of God but did not mention Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true escape and peace. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. God is great and He showed His greatness by sending His Son Jesus to die for our sins and to rise again, so that whoever believes in Him and calls upon His name will be forgiven and will have eternal life and a relationship with God. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus, to ask Him to be your Lord and Savior, for He is the one who can truly deliver and give you peace.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You see the fear and the racing thoughts and the heaviness that schizophrenia brings. We ask You in Jesus name to wrap Your arms of love and peace around this precious person right now. Command this fear to leave and let Your perfect love cast out fear. Calm the storm in the mind, quiet the high and racing thoughts, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch, for wisdom for doctors and counselors and for help and support from family and believers around them. Deliver them from torment and lead them into rest and clarity. Help them to know that You are with them and will never leave them nor forsake them. Show them the power of the name of Jesus and draw them close to salvation and hope in Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to keep crying out to Jesus throughout the day, even with simple prayers like Jesus help me, and to speak His name when fear rises. Stay connected to trusted people who can support you, such as a pastor, a mature Christian believer, family, and also continue with medical and counseling care that God can use for your good, for seeking help is not a lack of faith but a wise step. Try to rest, read small portions of Scripture when you can, and let trusted believers pray with you in person. We are continuing to pray that God will bring you escape from fear, stability in your thoughts, and the deep assurance that He is great and that He holds you securely in His hand.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Your cry has been heard and we have carried it before the Lord with great care, for you have said you are very afraid and your thoughts are very high and you need escape, and you have rightly said God is great.

Hear what the Lord says to such a troubled heart, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Though your trials are grievous and your thoughts are restless and high, His thoughts toward you are peace. He has not forgotten you, for He has engraved His people upon the palms of His hands, and all His thoughts are drifting your way in love. His thoughts are not as your thoughts, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than your ways and His thoughts than your thoughts, and therefore He can lift you as on eagles wings into a perfect peace which your own anxious thoughts can never achieve.

That peace is promised to the mind that is stayed upon Him, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in this dark world of care and with sorrows surging round. You are accepted in the Beloved, justified by faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and that peace can be yours not only when the storm has passed, but while duties press and fears remain, as you look to Christ.

The Lord Jesus Himself says, Fear not. It is not only a preacher who says it, but Christ who whispers to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, fear not, I will help you. Fear is weakening and dishonors the arm that piled the heavens, and the Lord would have you labor to be rid of it by trusting His promised strength. When the Spirit draws you to the mercy seat, you may know God is there too, for He loves the mercy seat and hears the broken cry.

We pray for you now for that deliverance which only God can give. He has found a ransom, and He brings His people forth by His own hand when the lamb was slain, and He makes deliverance effectual. He can deliver from the pit and from the noise of archers that disturb the soul, and bring you to still waters where your life is hidden with Christ.

Let us pray together. O great and merciful God, look upon this suffering one who is afraid and whose thoughts are high and troubled. Thou knowest the weight of this affliction called schizophrenia, and Thou knowest every fear. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, who alone is salvation, that Thou wouldst speak peace to this heart. Keep this mind in perfect peace as it is stayed upon Thee. Let Thy thoughts of peace prevail over all dark and dreadful thoughts. Say unto this soul, Fear not, for I am with thee, and give deliverance in Thy time and way. Wash with the blood of Jesus that whispers peace within, and grant rest to do Thy will. Hold this dear one fast, and let it be true, When I awake, I am still with Thee. Give wisdom to all who care for this soul, and draw near faithful helpers, pastors, physicians and loved ones, that this burden be not borne alone. We ask Thee to bring an expected end according to Thy good thoughts, and to keep this one safe in Jesus keeping. Amen.

Remember to stay near to Christ in His Word and in prayer, and to remain under the care of trusted pastors and physicians and those who love you, telling them honestly how you suffer, for the Lord often gives His peace through the means of His people and through daily help. Keep your mind stayed upon Christ as you are able, even with a short cry, Lord help me, and trust that His thoughts toward you are still thoughts of peace and not of evil.

Your cry for prayer has been heard and I am praying for you to our gracious God even now. I hear how afraid you are and how high and overwhelming your thoughts feel, and I have brought your fear and distress before the Lord asking Him to bring you relief, protection and calm.

The Scripture says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. That sound mind is a healthy and sober state of the soul that comes from Him. I am praying that He will grant you this gift in abundance, that He will quiet confusion, steady your mind, and guard your heart with His power and love.

Confusion and turmoil often come not only from what happens around us but from the weakness within us, yet God is able to give a clear calm even in the storm. When we set our mind to trust Him and to bear all things with Him, He can give peace that the world cannot give, a peace where you are kept safe in fellowship with Him. I am asking that the God of love and peace will be with you and that every evil and every fear will be driven away by His presence.

When fear rises up, place the sign of the cross upon your breast, call to mind the Lord Jesus Christ and all He has done for you, and remember the fear of God and His great love for you. He is greater than all that frightens you. He sees you, He knows your suffering, and He is able to keep both soul and body in His care. You are not forgotten and you are not alone.

I pray for you now: Heavenly Father, look with mercy upon this dear one who is afraid and whose thoughts are troubled. You are great and full of compassion. Grant a spirit of power and love and a sound mind. Take away fear, calm the storm within, and give deep and lasting peace. Guard this mind and heart in Christ Jesus, surround this life with Your protection, and lead to wise and caring help. Let Your peace rest upon this soul and let Your strength be felt day and night. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our healer, Amen.
