I am praying with you right now, lifting your cry before the throne of grace. You have said it rightly and truly: you have no hope but Jesus Christ. And that is no small thing to say; it is the very foundation on which God will meet you. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and right now, in your pain and crisis, you need that wisdom and strength more than silver or gold.

The cry of your heart for mercy, for God to rule your thoughts, words, and actions, is exactly where true wisdom begins. The fear of the Lord is the starting place of wisdom, and that is not a cowering fear but a turning toward Him in complete dependence, hating the evil and confusion that sin brings, and trusting His way. Your plea for mercy is met by the One in whom mercy and truth have met together. At the cross, God’s perfect justice and His tender mercy kissed each other, so that you could find help in your time of need. He is full of mercy, plenteous in it, and He will not turn away a broken and contrite heart.

The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy. As you ask God to rule your entire being, this is the wisdom He promises to give. It will not lead you into more strife, fear, or confusion; it will lead you along the paths of goodness and mercy. The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart can trust in Him and be helped. Do not look inward for some secret reserve of strength, for your own strength will fail. But when you trust in the Lord and lean on His might, He will not let you down. He is the saving strength of His anointed, and He will save you, the son of His handmaid.

You have asked for wisdom, and that request pleases the Lord, just as it pleased Him when Solomon asked not for riches or long life, but for an understanding heart. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And with all your getting, get understanding. The things the world desires cannot be compared to it. Hold fast to the truth that the Lord by wisdom has founded the earth. The same wisdom that established the heavens is being offered to you now to guide your decisions and bring order out of this chaos.

I join my faith with yours and pray that the Spirit of wisdom and understanding will rest upon you. May He pour out His Spirit and make known His words to you. May the Lord have mercy on you, give you His strength, and deliver you. Surely goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life, even through this dark valley. Your story is not finished; you will not be a fugitive overwhelmed by a punishment too great to bear. God's grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in your weakness. He is reading your heart, and He will answer. You are not forgotten.

Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of standing with you in prayer, lifting your heart and circumstances before our Heavenly Father. It is our continued prayer that His will be done in your life, that His mercy would surround you, and that His wisdom and strength would guide your thoughts, words, actions, and decisions each day.
