I have a pattern where I have an original problem, which is bad enough, happens, but then, as I take steps to solve it, secondary things pop up to push me back, and override whatever success I thought my efforts would bring me. So these negative effects band together to defeat me. For these things designed to keep me as a loser back off, and I actually break through and win sometimes. It would be a pleasant change. My whole life I've had this, but lately the bottom has REALLY fallen out.
