I have a female foster puppy that is being adopted by family # 1. My property mgr, has decided she wants the puppy & even though I and both owners of the rescue I volunteer for have told her that she cannot have the puppy she won’t let it rest. She sent her good friend & someone I know to "persuade" me to give the puppy to her. I was told that if I didn't give her the puppy that I wouldn't be allowed to foster anymore. Then the threat was raise the rent to force me out and then it was kick me out as I am on a month-to-month lease and they can kick you out for no reason. I can't afford a lawyer so I can’t fight this. Anyway I told them I didn't run the rescue & the decision wasn’t mine. She became more mad that I wouldn't just give her the puppy. She reminded me in a guilty way how she had helped get me this house to rent because she was the prop mgr, etc. I explained again how I'd told her she wouldn't be getting the puppy and that I didn't run the rescue, I am only a foster parent and that she would’ve made a good owner, but I didn’t get to make that decision. I said I put in my 2 cents and then they (the rescue) decide who adopts the dogs. I said it also isn't like a pet shop where the one with the most money gets the puppy. So the next tactic was to have me switch one of the male labs in the litter and give her the female & the other people the male. I have no money for a rental deposit somewhere else, muchless a pet deposit for my dogs. I and my dogs will be homeless if these threats are followed thru with. Please pray for things to get better. I am already disabled and just got bad health news from a biopsy I just got done. Thank you.
