I hate people who ignore me when I text me

We hear the hurt and frustration in your words and we understand how painful it feels to be ignored when you reach out to others and receive no response. That feeling of being turned off and rejected is real, and we want to bring it before the Lord together with you.

We also want to gently and lovingly rebuke the word hate that you have used, because Scripture is very clear about this. If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen 1 John 4:20. And Jesus calls us to a higher way, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. Hate, even when we feel justified by being ignored, gives a foothold to bitterness in our hearts. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32.

We do believe you when you say God recognizes that you don't play at all, that you are sincere and serious in how you treat people. God does see your heart. Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts afar off Psalm 139:1-2. He knows when we are trying to be genuine and when we are hurting because others do not respond in the same way. At the same time, God calls us to examine our own hearts and expectations. The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense Proverbs 19:11. People may not respond for many reasons, they may be busy, distracted, overwhelmed, or simply not good at communicating, and it is not always a rejection of us personally. We are called to extend the same grace we want to receive and to not let our peace depend on whether someone texts back quickly.

We encourage you to release this burden to the Lord rather than holding onto anger. Cast your cares on Him, forgive those who have ignored you, and pray for them instead of harboring resentment. If there is someone you value, you can calmly and kindly let them know how you feel without demanding or accusing, and then leave the outcome with God. If possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can be forgiven for our own sins, including hatred and anger, and be reconciled to God. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus and to come to the Father in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You see the sincerity of this heart and You know the sting of feeling ignored and turned off. We ask You to forgive where hate and anger have taken root and to wash this heart clean by the blood of Jesus. Fill this heart with Your love, patience, and tenderheartedness, and teach us to love as You have loved us. Heal the wound of rejection and remind this one that our worth is not found in a text message returned but in being Your beloved child. Help us to be slow to anger, quick to forgive, and to overlook offenses with grace. Give us wisdom in our communications and peace when others do not respond as we hope. Draw us closer to Jesus, that we may know His presence and His acceptance which never fails. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, to pray for those who have not responded, and to ask Him to guard your heart from bitterness. God is faithful to comfort you and to shape your character through these small trials.

We hear how heavy this feels when you reach out and hear nothing back. It makes sense you would feel turned off and even hurt, especially when you are being sincere and not playing games. God does see that sincerity in you.

Texting can be a hard way to feel known, because people get busy, distracted, or just respond differently than we hope, and the silence can feel louder than it is meant to be. It does not mean you are not worth responding to.

One small step that has helped others is to notice who does respond with care, even if not instantly, and to lean into those connections in a different way for a bit. If there is one person you trust, you could mention kindly that you value a reply, even a short one, and ask what way they prefer to stay in touch. Sometimes a quick call or seeing someone at church or nearby does more for friendship than waiting on a text thread. Building friendship often grows through being nearby and sharing a little of yourself over time, and that takes patience.

You matter to God and to us, and we are praying for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see when they feel ignored and discouraged. Bring comfort, steady friendships, and wisdom for how to reach out. Help them feel Your nearness and care today. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Every time I text them on my phone, they don't respond to me and make me feel turned off. God recognizes that I don't play at all.

We shouldn't hate. We should hate sin, we shouldn't hate people.

To be left without an answer when you have sincerely reached out to others is a wound that cuts deep, and the feeling of being turned away or thought little of can make the heart grow sore and even bitter. It is not a small trial to extend your hand in friendship and find no hand extended in return.

You are not alone in this loneliness, though it may feel so. Our blessed Lord Himself knew what it was to be left alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy. His disciples forsook Him and fled, yet hear His word, "You shall leave Me alone and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me." When men forget or forsake you, there is One who does not forget. The Father who was with Christ in His loneliness is with you also, and He sees your sincerity. You say God recognizes that you do not play at all, and it is true that He looks upon the heart and knows those who seek Him in truth.

Yet let me entreat you concerning the word you used, that you hate those who ignore you. That hate, if cherished, will become a heavier burden than their silence. Consider the pattern set before us, "Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you." He lived a life of forgiveness and crowned it with His dying prayer for His persecutors, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." We who have received such great and complete forgiveness, forgiveness that blots out the whole debt of our sin for Christ's sake, are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another freely and heartily and keeping no back reckonings.

Do you desire forgiveness from God, and have you sought it through Jesus Christ His Son? There is forgiveness with Him, full and present forgiveness for all who come with a penitent heart and trust in Christ. And when we have tasted that divine forgiveness, we find strength to forgive the slights and unkindness of others, not because the slight is small, but because the mercy we have received is so great.

May the Lord comfort you in this sense of being overlooked. May He lift from you the spirit of bitterness and give you a gentle and forgiving heart, and may He teach you the sweet companionship of His own presence, so that though others may leave you alone, you may know you are not alone. I pray that He will surround you with true fellowship in due time, and meanwhile cause you to find your deepest contentment in Him who never ignores the cry of His children, but hears and answers according to His perfect wisdom and love.
