Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your honest cry has been heard and I thank you for sharing it. Feeling at risk at work, pressed about a car, and distant from God all at once can leave anyone feeling lost and scattered, and it is understandable that your mind is wandering.
God has not moved away from you even when you feel out of touch with Him. He remains near, and He invites you to draw near to Him again through Jesus Christ, who alone brings us to the Father. The wandering of the mind and the shaking we feel in hard times is common, and the tempter would use it to discourage you, but God is faithful to keep those who turn to Him.
For your work and your need for a car, bring these needs plainly to the Lord in prayer and ask Him for wisdom and provision. Work diligently where you are, seek godly counsel, and trust Him with the outcome. Even if loss comes, we can still give thanks out of love and reverence for God, not turning to wrong ways to get what we need, but trusting that He sees and will provide what is best. He often uses these pressures to teach us to depend on Him more fully.
When you feel distant from God, return to simple and steady practices. Pray honestly each day, even with few words. Read Scripture regularly, even a little at a time. Give thanks for His mercies, remembering how He delivered us from error and brought us near when we were far off through the blood of Christ. Meet with faithful believers who can encourage you and pray with you. Do not expect feeling to lead the way, let faithfulness lead and feeling will often follow in time.
I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to have mercy on this one who feels lost and scattered. Grant peace to a wandering mind, steady the heart, and draw this soul close to You again. Provide for daily needs, grant wisdom for work and for the search for a car, and open a door for provision according to Your will. Strengthen faith, forgive sins, and help this soul to walk with You day by day, trusting Your goodness even in uncertainty. Amen.
You are not forgotten. Keep seeking the Lord, keep doing the next right thing before you, and trust Him to guide your steps one day at a time.
