I don't want to live far from God...

Beloved of All
There are many women these days who walk around naked (unfortunately). There are some who have actually flirted with me and tried to seduce me. There was a time when I was addicted to pornography (which is terrible). Now (to the glory of God) there is no pornography in my life, but I remain a weak and sinful person and I need God's action in me more than ever in these matters. Pray (if you have it in your heart) for me. May the Heavenly Father make me (permanently and forever) resistant to temptations from seductive women. May God make me (permanently and forever) wise, smart, foresightful and impenetrable to such temptations, in the Name of Jesus Christ! May there never be pornography or anything like it in my life again, because I do not want to live far from God...

We lift you up before the Father with deep gratitude for your heart’s desire to walk closely with Him and your honesty in acknowledging the struggles you face. Your cry for holiness and resistance to temptation is one that resonates with the heart of God, who calls us to be set apart for His purposes. The fact that you have already seen victory over pornography by the power of God is a testament to His faithfulness, and we rejoice with you in that deliverance! Yet we also recognize, as you do, that the battle against the flesh and the temptations of this world is ongoing. The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:12-13, *"Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."*

Your request for permanent resistance to temptation is a godly one, but we must also remember that our strength does not come from our own resolve—it comes from abiding in Christ daily. Jesus tells us in John 15:4-5, *"Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."* This is the key: not just resisting temptation in your own strength, but remaining so closely connected to Jesus that the temptations lose their power over you. When we fix our eyes on Him, the allure of sin dims in comparison to the beauty of His holiness.

We also want to address the cultural climate you described—one where immodesty and seduction are increasingly normalized. While we cannot control the actions of others, we *can* control our own responses, and more importantly, our hearts. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."* This is a high standard, but it is one that God equips us to meet through the power of the Holy Spirit. Job made a covenant with his eyes (Job 31:1), and we too must be intentional about guarding our hearts and minds. This means fleeing from temptation (1 Corinthians 6:18), avoiding situations where we know we will be tested beyond our current strength, and filling our minds with what is pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

As for the women who have flirted with or tried to seduce you, we urge you to see them through the lens of Christ’s love—not as temptations to be resented, but as souls for whom Jesus died. They, like all of us, are in need of the saving grace of God. Your resistance to their advances is not just about your own purity; it is also an opportunity to reflect Christ’s holiness to them, even if only in silence. Pray for them, that God would open their eyes to the truth and draw them to Himself.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for our brother, who seeks to walk in purity and closeness with You. Lord, You know the struggles he faces—the battles against the flesh, the temptations that surround him in this world, and the lingering weaknesses that threaten to pull him away from You. But we declare that *greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world* (1 John 4:4). Father, we ask that You would fill him anew with Your Holy Spirit, that he would be empowered to walk in victory over every temptation. Make him a man of unshakable integrity, whose eyes are fixed on You alone.

Lord, we pray that You would give him a deep and abiding *disgust* for sin—not just a fear of its consequences, but a holy revulsion for anything that would separate him from You. Let him taste the sweetness of Your presence so fully that the fleeting pleasures of this world become bitter in comparison. Clothe him in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), that he may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. When temptation comes, let him flee to You, the strong tower where he is safe (Proverbs 18:10).

Father, we ask that You would surround him with godly men who will encourage him, hold him accountable, and spur him on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). Let him not walk this path alone, but in the fellowship of believers who share his commitment to purity. And Lord, if there are areas of his life where he has not fully surrendered to You, we pray that You would convict him lovingly and draw him deeper into Your will.

We also pray for the women he encounters—those who may dress immodestly or act seductively. Father, soften their hearts to receive Your truth. Let them encounter the love of Christ through the lives of Your people, and may they come to know the freedom and dignity that comes from living according to Your design.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would prepare him for marriage one day—a godly, Christ-centered marriage where both he and his wife are fully devoted to You. Until that time, guard his heart and his mind, and let him use this season of singleness to grow in holiness and service to Your kingdom.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to memorize Scripture that combats temptation—verses like Psalm 119:9, *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word."* and 1 Corinthians 10:13, which we shared earlier. Fill your mind with God’s Word, and let it be the lens through which you see the world. And remember, when you stumble (as we all do), run to the cross. Confess your sins to God, receive His forgiveness (1 John 1:9), and keep moving forward in His grace.

You are not alone in this fight. We stand with you, and more importantly, *God is with you*. He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Stay close to Him.

Hey there,

We're right there with you, brother. It's tough out there, with so many women walking around immodestly and even flirting or trying to seduce. It's a real struggle, and we understand that you're just a man, trying to live close to God. We're grateful for your honesty and your desire for holiness.

We want to encourage you with this thought: God is faithful. He's promised to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He's also given us the power to resist temptation through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. So, let's ask God to fill you with His Spirit afresh, to give you strength to resist these temptations.

Also, let's remember that these women are not just temptations, but people who need Jesus too. Let's pray for them, that God would open their eyes to the truth and draw them to Himself. Maybe, in your resistance, they'll see a reflection of Christ's holiness.

Now, let's pray for you:

"Dear Lord, we lift this brother up before You. We ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the power to resist every temptation. Help him to keep his eyes fixed on You, Lord, and not on the things of this world. Give him a deep and abiding disgust for sin, Lord, and a hunger for righteousness. Clothe him in Your armor, Lord, so that he may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. And Lord, we pray for the women he encounters. Softening their hearts, Lord, that they may receive Your truth and come to know You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

You're not alone in this fight, brother. We're standing with you, and more importantly, God is with you. Keep fighting the good fight, and remember, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Stay strong, brother. We're praying for you.

In Christ,
