I don't want to live far from God...

Beloved of All
There are many women these days who walk around naked (unfortunately). There are some who have actually flirted with me and tried to seduce me. There was a time when I was addicted to pornography (which is terrible). Now (to the glory of God) there is no pornography in my life, but I remain a weak and sinful person and I need God's action in me more than ever in these matters. Pray (if you have it in your heart) for me. May the Heavenly Father make me (permanently and forever) resistant to temptations from seductive women. May God make me (permanently and forever) wise, smart, foresightful and impenetrable to such temptations, in the Name of Jesus Christ! May there never be pornography or anything like it in my life again, because I do not want to live far from God...

We stand with you in this battle, brother, for we know the struggles of the flesh are real, and the enemy seeks to ensnare even the most devoted followers of Christ. Your heart’s cry to remain close to God is a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in you, and we rejoice that by His grace, you have overcome the bondage of pornography. Yet we also recognize the vulnerability you express, and we urge you to cling ever more tightly to the Lord, for it is only through His strength that we can resist the temptations of this world.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* This promise is for you—God will not abandon you to the lusts of the flesh. He provides a way out, but you must be vigilant, fleeing from temptation rather than entertaining it even for a moment. Job 31:1 declares, *"I made a covenant with my eyes; how then should I look lustfully at a young woman?"* This must be your resolve as well: a covenant with your eyes, your mind, and your heart to turn away from what dishonors God.

The world is indeed filled with snares—women who dress immodestly, who flirt, who seek to draw men into sin. But remember, the battle is not ultimately against them; it is against the spiritual forces of wickedness that seek to use them as instruments of temptation. Ephesians 6:12 tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Your victory will not come from your own wisdom or strength, but from the armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

You have already tasted the bitterness of sin and the sweetness of freedom in Christ. Do not return to what once enslaved you. 2 Peter 2:20-22 warns, *"For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, ‘The dog turns back to his own vomit again,’ and ‘the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire.’"* Let this be a sobering reminder to press forward, never looking back.

We also encourage you to fill your mind with what is pure and honorable. Philippians 4:8 exhorts, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things."* Replace the images of the world with the Word of God. Memorize Scripture, meditate on it day and night, and let it be a lamp to your feet (Psalm 119:105).

Now, let us pray for you with fervency and faith:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before Your throne of grace, knowing that You are his strength and his shield. Lord, You have already delivered him from the snare of pornography, and we thank You for the victory he has experienced in Christ. But Father, the battle is not over. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), and our brother knows his own weakness. So we ask, Lord, that You would fortify him with Your might. Clothe him in the full armor of God, that he may stand firm against every scheme of the devil.

Father, we pray that You would make him permanently and forever resistant to the temptations of seductive women. Give him the wisdom of Joseph, who fled from Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:12), and the discernment to recognize danger before it ensnares him. Let his eyes be fixed on You, Lord, and let his heart be so captivated by Your love that the fleeting pleasures of sin hold no allure. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10).

We rebuked every spirit of lust, every demonic assignment sent to tempt him, and we command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he shall condemn. Father, let his mind be transformed by the renewing of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2), that he may see women as You see them—as daughters of the King, not objects of lust.

Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly men who will hold him accountable, who will encourage him in the faith, and who will stand with him in prayer. Let him not walk this path alone, but let him find strength in the body of Christ. And Father, if it is Your will, provide him with a godly wife—a woman who fears You, who will be a helper suited to him (Genesis 2:18), and who will walk beside him in purity and faith. Until that time, guard his heart and his mind, that he may remain blameless before You.

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would deepen his love for You above all else. Let him find his satisfaction in You alone, that the temporary pleasures of this world may pale in comparison to the joy of Your presence. May he never again turn to pornography or any form of sexual immorality, but may he walk in the freedom and holiness that Christ has purchased for him.

We ask all these things in the mighty and victorious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother, stand firm. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). When temptation comes, flee to Him. Cry out to Him. He is your refuge and your strength (Psalm 46:1). And remember, the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). Walk in that truth, and do not give the enemy a foothold. We are praying for you.

We're right there with you, brother. We know the struggle is real, but we also know the power of Jesus in our lives. Let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, laying our brother's burden at Your feet. Lord, You know the temptations he faces, the struggles he endures. We ask for Your strength to be made perfect in his weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Help him to resist the temptations that come his way, to flee from them rather than entertain them even for a moment (1 Corinthians 6:18).

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom to guide him. Help him to see women as You see them, not as objects of lust, but as daughters of the King, worthy of respect and honor (1 Peter 3:7). Give him the discernment to recognize danger before it ensnares him, and the courage to turn away from it.

We also ask for Your grace to fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Help him to walk in Your ways, to live a life pleasing to You. Help him to fill his mind with what is pure and honorable, to meditate on Your Word day and night (Psalm 119:11).

Lord, we ask for Your protection over him. Guard his heart and his mind, and deliver him from the snares of the enemy. Help him to stand firm in his faith, to be a beacon of light in a dark world.

Finally, Lord, we ask for Your love to fill him. Help him to love You with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). Help him to find his satisfaction in You alone, that he may never turn back to the things that once enslaved him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
