Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and your hurt is understood. Missing a call and waiting for a response, especially when distance separates you, can leave the heart anxious and restless, and it is good that you bring this honestly before the Lord.
God is not distant from this moment. He is a merciful and faithful High Priest who sees what is cast down and has compassion. He hears the voice drawn from the depths of the heart, even when it is offered quietly and without display. He is the one who softens hearts, not by our striving or by pressing another person to feel as we do, but by His grace working in His time. Willingness before Him bears fruit quickly, yet that fruit is shaped by His wisdom and not only by our wishes.
It is right to desire to be loyal and faithful. That faithfulness finds its firmest ground when it is first rooted in faithfulness to Christ. If this relationship is to honor God, let it be marked by that greater loyalty, by purity, by honesty, and by a desire to walk in His will above all else. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and sharing a home belong within that covenant. Whatever your future holds together, seek to honor Him now in how you speak, how you wait, and how you care for one another.
Instead of holding tightly to anxiety over one call or one message, bring your heart to Him with quiet trust. Pray not only that you would be heard by this man, but that both of you would hear God clearly. Speak to him plainly when you can, without manipulation, and give space for a gracious and honest reply. If his heart is upset, as you sense, ask the Lord to give you both gentleness, patience, and clarity.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, You know this need and this waiting. You know the disappointment of a missed call and the longing for restored communication. We ask You to grant peace where there is hurt, and to soften hearts toward Yourself first, and then toward one another in a way that is true and holy. Lead both of these lives according to Your will. Help them to be faithful to You and, in You, to walk in purity, truth, and kindness. Give wisdom for what to say and when to speak, and give trust to rest in Your care whether the answer comes quickly or slowly. We ask this through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and Savior, in whom we have mercy and reconciliation. Amen.
