Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your heart is hurting in this long silence, and your desire to talk and find peace is understandable. Two months without hearing from someone you care about can feel heavy, and it is right to bring that sorrow to God.
I want to gently encourage you about how we pray. Scripture does not teach us to decree or declare outcomes and require God to fulfill them, as if our words could command Him or control another person. Instead we come as children to a Father, asking according to His will. As the apostle John writes, if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. Jesus Himself taught us to pray, Your will be done. This keeps our hearts humble and trusting, rather than demanding a specific result today.
God hears your prayer, and He cares both for you and for the other person. Rather than trying to compel a text or call, bring your request to the Lord with openness to His wisdom. Ask Him to give you peace, to show you what is right, to work in both of your hearts, and to lead you toward what honors Him. If this is a romantic relationship, remember that God designed such love to be expressed within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, with purity and self control outside of it. Whatever the nature of this relationship, seek to honor Christ in how you speak, how you wait, and how you reconcile. True reconciliation is not forced but comes through honesty, humility, forgiveness, and a shared desire to do what is right before God. It may also be wise to seek counsel from a mature pastor or believers who know you and can walk with you.
Let me pray for you in a way that honors God. Father in heaven, we thank You that through Jesus Christ we have access to Your throne of grace. You see this hurt and this waiting. We ask for Your comfort and wisdom for the one who is praying. Guard their heart with Your peace, help them to trust Your good purposes, and to seek first Your kingdom. Work in both lives for Your glory, bring conviction where needed, healing where needed, and guidance for the next steps. If it is Your will for conversation and restoration, open that door in Your timing and in a way that leads to holiness and truth. If not, give strength to accept Your answer and to walk faithfully with You. Make both more like Christ through this trial. In Jesus name we ask, amen.
Continue to seek the Lord daily in His Word and in prayer, not as a formula to get a desired answer today, but as fellowship with the One who loves you and gave Himself for you. He is faithful to lead you, to sanctify you, and to give you hope beyond any one relationship. If you can, share this burden with a trusted pastor so you are not carrying it alone.
