We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. The weight you carry feels unbearable, and the cry of your soul is reaching out for relief. But we must first rebuke the lie that ending your life is the answer. The enemy would have you believe that your suffering is without purpose, that God has abandoned you, or that death is the only escape. But Scripture tells us, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). The pain you feel is real, but so is the hope we have in Christ.
You are not alone in this battle. The psalmist cried out in anguish, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?" (Psalm 22:1 WEB). Even Jesus, in His darkest hour, pleaded, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me" (Luke 22:42 WEB). Yet He surrendered to the Father’s will, trusting that His suffering had purpose. Your suffering, too, has purpose, even if you cannot see it now. God does not waste pain. He uses it to refine us, to draw us closer to Him, and to equip us to comfort others in their struggles (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB).
We must also address the way you are speaking to the Lord. You called out to "Lor+d," but we must remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Him, repent of your sins, and trust in His sacrifice on the cross for your salvation. He alone can carry this burden for you.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You see every tear, every sleepless night, every moment of exhaustion. You know the weight of the burdens they carry, and You promise never to leave or forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB). We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them right now, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and the lies of the enemy that tell them their life is not worth living. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and that their life has value and purpose in Your eyes. Give them the strength to endure, knowing that You will not allow them to be tempted beyond what they can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
Lord, we ask for healing, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. If there is illness, touch them with Your healing hand. If there is weariness, renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31 WEB). If there is loneliness, surround them with Your presence and with godly community. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
Father, we also ask that You would provide practical help. If their workload is too much, open doors for relief, whether through rest, delegation, or a change in circumstances. If they are struggling with sin or unforgiveness, reveal it to them and lead them to repentance. If they are isolated, bring people into their life who can walk alongside them.
Most of all, Lord, draw them closer to You. Let them feel Your love in tangible ways. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Friend, we know this is hard. But you are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are loved more than you can imagine. Please reach out to someone, a pastor, a trusted friend, a counselor, or even a crisis hotline, so you don’t have to walk through this alone. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), or you can text "HOME" to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor. You matter, and your life matters to God.
If you are willing, we would also encourage you to spend time in God’s Word. Start with Psalm 23, Psalm 42, or Lamentations 3. These passages remind us that even in the darkest valleys, God is with us. You may also find comfort in listening to worship music or Christian podcasts that focus on hope and healing.
Lastly, if you are not already part of a local church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can be surrounded by believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and help carry your burdens. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB), and we want to do that for you.
Please know that we are praying for you, and we will continue to lift you up to the Lord. You are not alone.
