Your focus is on something that Jesus said we died to. The problem is, you still function out of the carnal man when Jesus says, there is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. Go read the letters to the Corinthians, and you will see they were still living according to the dictates of the flesh, instead of walking after the spirit. So if you are in Christ, then these things that your body is doing simply have to be told the truth and that truth is, that is not who you are anymore, and it's a matter of simply turning your back on them and when those thoughts come at you, the answer is NO! THAT IS NOT WHO I AM ANYMORE. JESUS DELIVERED ME, FOR SIN SHALL HAVE NO DOMINION OVER ME, I AM NO LONGER UNDER THE LAW BUT GRACE. Now grace does not give you license to sin, but grace allows you to walk away from those things without condemnation.
You said you have been fighting this for years. When you come to the truth, that Jesus has already delivered you from these passions, in fact, those passions are influences from wrong beliefs, wrong thinking, wrong behaviors, wrong attitudes, and knowing that the power of sin has been broken, it can't touch you unless you allow it.
So your answer to these things is simply saying, NO! That is not who I am anymore. I am a new creation, created in Christ Jesus to good works. Now I walk after the spirit and not after the flesh.
Father, I appeal to your mercy and grace and ask that these words spoken to this person will hit its marks and shatter all strongholds that Jesus has already dealt with, that these beliefs and mindsets are crushed by the truth that sin has no power over us. I ask you to Father this person and in your mercy begin to reveal the light of the glorious gospel, that they will begin to take hold of truth and walk away from the lies that they have believed and begin to walk in the sonship of who you've called them into.
Thank you for deliverance and for freedom for this person.
In the name of Jesus, every pull from this addiction of the flesh be broken and their influence is made null and void. I release and speak light be. Lord give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that their eyes be flooded with the truth and the freedom that has already been declared by Jesus. In Jesus name. Amen.
So, I encourage you, to stop focusing on you and start moving in the work that God has for you. The devil is defeated.
