I am coward

We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your fear to the One who holds all things in His hands. The fear of death and the fear of pain are heavy burdens, but Scripture tells us, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4 WEB). You are not walking this valley alone, Christ walks beside you, and His presence is your peace.

First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, now is the time. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is found in no other name, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Him into your heart. Only in Him can you find true freedom from fear.

For those who already know Christ, fear can still creep in, but we are called to stand firm in faith. The apostle Paul writes, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21 WEB). Death is not the end for believers, it is the doorway to eternal life with our Savior. The pain and suffering of this world are temporary, but the glory that awaits us is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). We must remind ourselves daily of this truth.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear in your life. The Bible says, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fear does not come from God, it is a tool of the enemy to keep you from walking in the fullness of His purpose. We command that spirit to leave you now, in the mighty name of Jesus. You are not a coward; you are a child of the Most High God, and He has equipped you with strength, courage, and a sound mind.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling with fear, fear of death, fear of pain, fear of the unknown. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of fear that have bound them. Fill them with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your promises. When the enemy whispers lies of doubt and despair, let them hear Your voice speaking truth and peace.

We declare over them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We pray that they would fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to walk in boldness, knowing that You are with them wherever they go (Joshua 1:9).

If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Draw them to Yourself, reveal Your love and grace to them, and let them experience the freedom that comes only through Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on these truths daily. Memorize Scripture that speaks to your heart and recite it when fear tries to take hold. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray for you and encourage you in your walk with Christ. You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we. Stand firm in faith, and watch as the Lord transforms your fear into courage.

Thank you for being so honest about what you’re carrying. So many of us have felt exactly that, the gut-level fear of pain, of dying, of the unknown. It doesn’t make you a coward. It makes you human. We often think courage means feeling no fear, but that’s not true. Courage is what grows in us when we face what terrifies us, even with our knees knocking, and we take one step forward anyway. And even that kind of courage is rarely something we can manufacture on our own.

We’d encourage you not to wrestle with this all alone. Sometimes these deep fears get tangled up with our body’s own stress response, and it can be a real gift to speak with a wise pastor, counselor, or even a trusted doctor who can help you untangle what’s at the root. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

In the meantime, we remember that Jesus himself knew what it was to face suffering and death. He didn’t pretend it wasn’t agonizing. He walked right into it, held by the Father’s love. And that same love holds you, even when your mind races or your heart pounds. You are not outside the reach of God’s steady, quieting presence.

Let’s bring this to him together.

Lord Jesus, we come before you with this deep fear of death and of being hurt. You know the racing thoughts, the dread, the weight of it. We ask you to meet this one in the middle of that fear with your nearness that brings peace. Quiet the heart and mind, and provide trustworthy people to walk alongside. Give courage not as a sudden superhero moment, but as a gentle daily strength to keep going, rooted in the sure hope that nothing, not even death, can separate us from your love. In your name we pray, amen.

I hear the trembling of your heart in those few words, and I would not brush aside your fear as though it were nothing. The dread of death, the shrinking from pain, these are natural to our flesh. Even the boldest have felt the cold shadow of that specter. But you must not let this fear master you, for if it drives you to dishonor your Lord, or to live in perpetual bondage, it becomes a snare. Remember, the fear of death is part of the punishment of sin, a chain that Christ came to break. For the unbelieving world, it serves a purpose, but for the saint, it is not necessary. Why should you, who have been washed in the blood of Jesus, go mourning all your days because of an enemy that He has already vanquished? The Captain of our salvation has tasted death for us, that He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. If you are in Christ, death has no sting for you. The grave is but the porch of your Father’s house.

Yet the foe is real, and the flesh is weak. So I point you to the promise that is woven like a golden thread through all Scripture: “Fear not.” God does not wish His people to be afraid, neither of the storm within nor the final parting. He cries to you, “Fear not, thou worm Jacob… I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer the Holy One of Israel.” Your very sense of weakness is the soil in which courage grows. When you know you have no strength of your own, then you lean upon the Everlasting Arm. Do you tremble at pain? Look to Him who His own self bore your sins in His own body on the tree, and see there a love that endured far more than you shall ever be asked to suffer. He did not shrink from the nails, the thorns, or the darkness of desertion; and now He ever liveth to sustain you. Trust in that finished work, and His perfect love will, little by little, cast out the slavish fear.

I do not speak as one who has never felt the arrow of alarm. But I have found that when my spirit is overwhelmed, the Lord is my stay. Pray much, as Daniel did, and let your habitual devotion become the backdrop against which trials find you armed. Be honest with God about your terror; He knows it already. Cast yourself upon Him, even if your faith feels like a drowning man’s grip. The Lord who says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee,” does not wait for you to be bold before He will help you. He helps the worm, the trembling sinner, the broken reed. And remember, that same gracious hand that will not let you go in life will not drop you in the hour of your departure. The calm that Christians often display at the last is not native courage, it is the inflow of the very peace of God. So seek His face now, and you shall find that, by degrees, the terror shrinks. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. Go, and do likewise, and you will prove that there is forgiveness with Him, and help for every fearful step, until the fear itself shall be swallowed up in the light of His countenance.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not let this fear hold you in bondage any longer. Since Christ our Lord has come and died for us, death is no more what it once was. He took death and changed it into a sleep. When He said, "The maid is not dead, but sleepeth," He taught us that for those who belong to Him, death is but a gentle slumber.

The sting is gone, the terror is broken. Why then should you tremble before a defeated enemy? The devil once held men in lifelong slavery through the fear of death, but Christ has set us free. He Himself went down into death and rose again, trampling it underfoot.

Now the one who fears death is not the one who trusts in Christ. If you have been baptized into His death, you share in His resurrection. So fear not those who can harm the body but cannot touch the soul. Bodily pain and even death are light things compared to the life to come.

The martyrs laughed at torments because they fixed their eyes on the crown. Paul counted not even his life dear to him. You say you are a coward, but Christ can transform your weakness into strength. Look at Ananias, who trembled at the name of Saul the persecutor, yet the Lord said, "He is a chosen vessel." That same Saul became Paul, who feared neither chains nor death.

The very chains he wore became ornaments brighter than gold. If he could go from binding believers to embracing bonds for Christ, then your fear can be turned into boldness. Do not look at your own frailty; look at the power of Him who has conquered death. When the enemy threatens, remember that you fight with the whole armor of God.

The evil day may come, but He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Death has been swallowed up in victory. So fix your mind on the resurrection, and your fear will melt away. The one who fears God need fear nothing else.

Your honesty about feeling cowardly and scared of death and hurt is not something to despise, but it is something from which Jesus came to set you free. He took on our flesh and blood precisely so that through His own death He could destroy the one who held the power of death, the devil, and release all those who were held in lifelong bondage by that terror. The sting of death was sin, and the strength of sin was the law’s condemnation, but thanks be to God, He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. This means the grave has lost its victory for the child of God.

When you pass through the valley of the shadow of death, you do not have to be afraid of any evil, because He is with you. His rod and staff comfort you even there. I have found that fear always creeps in when I forget the Lord and His presence. The cure is always to remember Him. Faith and fear cannot rule the same heart; they push each other out. So when terror knocks, look to Him again. The fear of the Lord is quite different. That is not a panicked dread but a reverent awe of His power and goodness. That kind of fear is the first step into wisdom, the place where you learn to hate evil and rest secure in His love. Jesus bore the suffering and death you fear, not as a helpless victim but as your redeemer, and now He lives. Your life is in His hands, and nothing can snatch it away.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. It takes great courage to admit fear, especially when it feels as deep as the fear of death or pain. We have been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to wrap you in His peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding, and to remind you of His promise that He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with His comfort, that you would feel the nearness of Jesus in every moment of anxiety, and that His perfect love would cast out all fear. Remember, He has conquered death, and in Him, we find eternal life and security. If you’ve felt His peace or strength in these past days, we would love to hear how God is working in your life—your praise report could be such an encouragement to others walking a similar path.

If the fear still feels overwhelming, please don’t hesitate to share your request again. We are here to stand with you, to intercede on your behalf, and to remind you that you are not alone. The Lord is faithful, and He hears the cries of His children. Keep seeking Him, keep pressing into His Word, and know that we are praying for your heart to be steadied by His unfailing love.

May God bless you with His presence, His courage, and His hope as you continue to walk with Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Evil satanic people keep falsely accusing of things that I would never do, and things that they would do and have actually done. I'm very angry because the people around me are cowards and they refuse to stand up for me against the psychopaths. They want to abuse the least of these and people...
