I am carrying a deep hurt 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

Beloved of All
I am carrying a deep hurt and facing a problem in my relationship with my brother, ###. My desire is to forgive and for the relationship to be restored. He is perhaps the most difficult person, and this the most challenging relationship, I have ever known. Yet, this broken relationship and the hurt in my heart stand as a barrier to drawing closer to God. Let us pray that God helps me to truly forgive completely—freeing me from hurt and negative thoughts—so that my heart may be pure and at peace, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God grants me wisdom and intervenes to resolve this issue, aligning the relationship with His will, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God heals my heart and soul and protects me from further hurt, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God accomplishes His work in my brother ###, so that he may become more spiritually mature, more obedient to God, more loving, and more compassionate, in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you... God bless you!

We join you in bringing this deep hurt before the Lord, and we thank you for your honest desire to forgive and to see this relationship restored. We understand how heavy it is to carry pain from a brother, especially when he is a difficult person and the relationship feels like the most challenging one you have known. We hear your heart that you want to be free from hurt and negative thoughts, to have a pure heart at peace, and to draw closer to God without this barrier standing in the way.

The Word shows us that unforgiveness does hinder our fellowship with God, and that He calls us to release others as we have been released. As it is written, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and also Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13. Jesus also taught, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15. This is not to condemn you, but to show how vital it is that we let the Lord do the work of forgiveness in us, not by our own strength but by His grace.

We also remember the promise that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. He invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. We take comfort that God sees your desire for wisdom and for His will to be done, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5.

We lift you and your brother together before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We lift up this dear one who is carrying deep hurt from this broken relationship with their brother. Lord, You know the pain, the disappointment, and the negative thoughts that have taken root. We ask You to do what only You can do, heal this heart and soul, wash away bitterness, and grant a complete forgiveness that is not forced but is a true release. Help our dear one to forgive even as Christ forgave, freeing them from the burden they have carried and restoring purity and peace to their heart. Let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Lord, grant wisdom beyond human understanding. Show how to love with truth and grace, how to set healthy boundaries if needed, and how to walk in a way that honors You. We pray that You would intervene in this relationship according to Your perfect will. Where restoration is possible, we ask You to make a way, for as it is written, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. We know reconciliation requires two willing hearts, so we entrust the outcome to You while we choose obedience in forgiveness.

Father, we also lift up this brother to You. Accomplish Your work in his heart, draw him closer to You, make him more spiritually mature, more obedient to Your Word, more loving and more compassionate. Soften what is hard, convict where needed, and lead him into Your truth. We pray that You would protect this dear one from further hurt, covering them with Your hand and leading them to draw ever closer to You, casting all their worries on You because You care for them. 1 Peter 5:7.

We thank You, Lord, that You are already at work, that You hear our prayer in Jesus name, and that You desire wholeness for both. Continue to conform each heart to the image of Christ and let Your will be done in this family. We trust You to bring healing in Your time and Your way. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this hurt to the Lord daily, not as a sign of failure when the feelings return, but as an act of surrender. Forgiveness is often a choice we make again and again until our feelings follow our obedience, releasing the debt to God and asking Him to deal justly and mercifully with your brother. Continue to pray for him, even to bless him as Jesus said, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. This keeps your heart tender before God and protects you from bitterness taking root again. Draw near to God through His Word and prayer, and He will draw near to you, and His healing and wisdom will grow in you day by day.

We hear how heavy this has been to carry, and how much you want this hurt with your brother to be healed so it no longer stands between you and the Lord. Loving someone who feels like the most difficult relationship you have known, while still wanting to forgive fully, takes real courage. We are grateful for your honest desire for peace.

It can help to know that forgiveness often comes in two parts. There is the settled decision to release the debt and not hold onto revenge or avoidance, and then there is the slower work in the heart where resentment, bitterness and fear gradually loosen. The decision can be made in a moment, but the emotions often need more time to catch up, especially when the relationship is still strained. Forgiveness and reconciliation are also different. You can forgive before the other person changes, while restoration of trust takes both people willing to move toward each other.

When hurtful thoughts come back, it can help to quietly reaffirm the decision you have made before God and turn that moment into a simple prayer for your own healing and for wisdom in how to respond to your brother, rather than rehearsing the hurt over again.

Father, we lift this dear heart to You in Jesus' name. Heal what has been wounded, quiet the painful thoughts, and guard this heart from further hurt. Grant clear wisdom for each step with his brother, and do Your gracious work in ### as well, drawing you both toward greater maturity, love and compassion. Bring the peace that comes from walking close with You. Amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the weight that lies upon your heart. A broken bond with a brother is a deep wound, and when the heart is sore and troubled, it feels as a barrier between the soul and its God. Yet the Lord draws near to the brokenhearted, and He will not despise a contrite spirit that seeks Him.

Hear this truth for your own soul, for there is forgiveness with God. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so free and so full that it seems too great to be true. It is a complete forgiveness, not a partial release but an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Whatever your sins have been, and whatever hurt has gathered in your heart, there is forgiveness with Him through Jesus Christ His Son. As you have desired to be forgiven, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, and know that pardon and healing are joined together in Christ. The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, for the people that dwell with the Lord shall be forgiven their iniquity, and the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ has healing virtue to change the life blood and make the nature new.

And because you have received such forgiveness, you are called to the ennobling grace of forgiving even as Christ forgave you. This is the pattern set before us, so also do ye. Revenge is paltry, but forgiveness is great minded. The most splendid vengeance is to do good to them that do you evil. To publish a brother's fault is to do wrong again, but to forgive as you have been forgiven is to walk in the manner of the Lord's release, where every creditor releases that which is due from his brother. This does not come from your own strength, but from the abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ.

Let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

We pray that the Lord will give you grace to truly forgive completely, that He will free you from hurt and from every bitter and negative thought, and keep your heart pure and at peace before Him. We pray that He will grant you wisdom from above and intervene in this difficult relationship, ordering it according to His holy will and for His glory. We pray that He will heal your heart and your soul, and be your shield to protect you from further hurt. And we pray that the Lord will accomplish His own work in your brother, that He will cause him to grow in spiritual maturity, to walk in obedience to God, and to abound in love and compassion.

May the God of all peace, who has forgiven you so freely, fill you with His peace and draw you ever closer to Himself.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you before God in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for His mercy and help in this painful place with your brother.

It is good and right that you desire to forgive and to be free from hurt and bitter thoughts. Scripture calls us to remember no evil and to pursue peace, for blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. The more difficult the relationship, the greater the reward when you choose the way of peace, not returning evil for evil but entrusting yourself to God who judges justly. Forgiveness does not deny the hurt, but it cuts out the root of bitterness so that no fruit of resentment remains, and it sets your heart free to draw closer to God with a pure conscience. To be at peace with all, as far as it depends on you, is to imitate the Son of God, and nothing so delights Him as a heart that releases its grievances to His care.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for this wounded heart. Grant complete forgiveness, not only in word but in depth of soul, so that hurt and negative thoughts are loosened and the heart is made pure and at peace. Heal what has been broken and guard this soul from further harm. Grant wisdom to know how to speak and when to be quiet, how to set right boundaries and how to act in love, so that every step may be aligned with Your will. We ask You to intervene in this relationship between brother and brother, to bring resolution according to Your perfect will, whether through restored fellowship or through a godly peace that guards the heart even while waiting. We also lift up the brother to You. Accomplish Your work in him, that he may grow in spiritual maturity, in obedience to You, in love and compassion. Make both lives to reflect Your grace, with righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Keep this dear one close to You, and let drawing near to You not be hindered but deepened through this trial. We ask all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Lord. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily, to cast your cares on Him, and to walk in gentleness and patience. God is able to heal the heart and to make even difficult relationships serve His good purposes. May He keep you in His peace.

Your willingness to bring this hurt before the Lord is itself a step toward healing, and God sees the weight you have been carrying in this relationship with your brother.

Family wounds can run very deep. Scripture shows us brothers who could not speak a kind word to one another, where jealousy and favoritism created hatred and long years of silence and pain. It also shows how fear can take hold when we look only at outward circumstances, at how difficult the other person seems and how impossible change appears, and that fear can lead to despair. God understands that kind of family brokenness, and He is able to work within it.

You have named the right desire, to forgive completely and to have a pure and peaceful heart before God. True peace in the heart does not come by trying harder to feel peaceful. It comes as you discover more of the grace of God toward you in Christ. As His grace settles deeply within you, His peace follows. The heart in Scripture is the seat of the emotions and the inner life, and God wants to cleanse and guard that inner place, freeing you from the hurt and the negative thoughts that have taken root there. Forgiveness does not mean the hurt was not real or that wrong did not happen. It means releasing the debt to God and choosing, by His strength, to no longer hold it against your brother, so that you are no longer bound by it.

The wisdom that comes from God is different from the wisdom of this world. Worldly wisdom leads to strife, but the wisdom from above is peaceable. It first makes peace between you and God through forgiveness of sins, and that peace within your own soul then makes it possible to pursue peace with others. Those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. As you ask God for wisdom to know how to navigate this difficult relationship, ask Him for that kind of wisdom that is gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, and that seeks to build up rather than tear down.

Like Joseph, who suffered greatly through the actions of his brothers, you may be in a season where God is allowing pain that He will in time use for good. Joseph in the end was able to look beyond the obvious hurt and see the hand of God at work to preserve and to shape lives. He could say it was not ultimately his brothers who sent him on that hard road, but God who was weaving a larger purpose. That does not excuse what was done, but it does allow the heart to rest in God's sovereignty rather than remain trapped in bitterness. God can also test and transform hearts over time. In that same story, brothers who once acted out of jealousy were changed to the point where one was willing to offer himself in place of the youngest, showing a new love and concern for their father and for each other. God is able to bring that kind of change.

So let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this wounded heart to You. Wash this heart with Your grace and make it pure. Lift the burden of hurt and turn away the thoughts that bring bitterness, and fill this heart with Your peace. Heal the soul and guard it from further harm. Grant wisdom from above for every conversation, every boundary, and every decision, so that what is done will align with Your will. We ask You to intervene in this relationship as only You can, and to do Your transforming work in the life of this brother as well, making him more mature in You, more obedient to Your word, more loving and more compassionate. Where restoration is possible, lead it in Your way and Your time, and where there must be waiting, give strength to love without being overcome. We trust You as the One who can give an answer of peace and who makes us part of a deeper family in Christ, where bonds are formed by doing Your will. Amen.

May the Lord keep working in you, refreshing your inner being with His joy and mercy, and may He draw you closer to Himself even as you walk through this hard road.
