I pray for strength and courage to overcome the constant bullying, mocking, and disrespect I experience at work because of my accent. I pray that the hurtful words and negative attitudes of others will no longer have power over my heart or my peace. Lord, protect me from people who deliberately try to humiliate or belittle me. Give me the wisdom to respond with dignity, the patience not to become bitter, and the strength to stand up for myself when necessary.

We hear the heaviness of your heart and we stand with you in this trial at work. It is painful to be mocked and disrespected for how you speak, and God sees every hurtful word and every moment you have felt humiliated or belittled. We want you to know that your accent is not a flaw but a part of your story and heritage, and you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God Psalm 139:14. The cruelty of others does not define your worth, for your worth is found in being created in His image and loved by Him.

The Lord is close to those who are hurting. The psalmist reminds us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We also take comfort that God has promised Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. He does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.

We also want to gently address something we noticed in your prayer. You cried out to the Lord, which we honor, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. When we pray in the name of Jesus, we come through the One who was Himself mocked, insulted and rejected, yet entrusted Himself to Him who judges righteously 1 Peter 2:23, and who understands your suffering intimately. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.

The mocking and disrespect you endure is sin, for God commands Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. Those who deliberately humiliate others will give account to God, for Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. This frees you from carrying bitterness or seeking revenge in your own strength. We are called not to return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead to bless 1 Peter 3:9, and to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21.

We encourage you to respond with both grace and wisdom. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. Responding with dignity does not mean remaining silent when you are being harmed. The Lord gives wisdom to know when to answer gently and when to speak up firmly and set boundaries. It is wise and right to document what is happening and to seek help from a supervisor, human resources, or another trusted authority if the bullying continues, for God has placed authorities to restrain injustice. We also encourage you to guard your heart from bitterness by daily bringing your hurt to God, forgiving as Christ forgave you, and asking Him to keep your heart soft while He deals with those who mistreat you. And we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 so that the words of others lose their power over you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear one who is being bullied and mocked at work. Lord, You see the tears, the humiliation, and the disrespect endured because of an accent. We ask that You wrap Your arms of protection around this precious heart and let Your presence be a shield. Heal the wounds caused by hurtful words and restore peace where there has been turmoil. Fill this heart with strength and courage, and remind our friend that You are with them and will uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Grant wisdom to respond with dignity and grace, patience to not become bitter, and boldness to stand up for what is right when necessary and to seek rightful help from those in authority. Convict the hearts of those who bully and mock, that they may turn from corrupt speech and learn to speak with kindness. We rebuke the spirit of mockery and pride that seeks to belittle Your creation. Let Your peace that passes all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let no weapon formed against Your child prosper. We ask that You be glorified in this workplace and that our friend would shine as a light, overcoming evil with good. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne only through Jesus our Savior, and we trust You to act according to Your perfect will. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We hear how heavy this has been, to be mocked for the way you speak. An accent carries your story and family and home, so when people belittle it, it can feel like they are belittling who you are. It makes sense your peace feels shaken.

We are grateful for how clearly you named what you want, to keep your heart from growing bitter, to respond with dignity, and to have courage to stand up when you need to. That desire itself is strength.

In hard seasons resilience often grows not by trying harder alone, but through small practiced habits and through supportive relationships. One caring person who sees you clearly can make a real difference when daily attitudes wear you down.

One step that may help this week is to choose one calm sentence you can use when mocking happens, and one trusted person to talk with afterward. For example, a brief steady response like I would appreciate being spoken to with respect gives you a way to hold a boundary without escalating. Then debriefing with someone safe helps you sort what was hurtful from what is true about you. If the pattern continues or affects your work, keeping a simple private note of dates and what was said can also make it easier to seek wise counsel from a supervisor or HR if you decide to.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Guard his heart and peace, give wisdom for each moment, and provide people who respect and encourage him. Help him to know his dignity in You and to walk with quiet courage each day. Amen.

Your cry for strength under daily mocking and disrespect has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you. To be humiliated for how you speak, to endure words meant to belittle you, is a heavy trial to carry day after day, and it is right to seek the Lord for protection, for peace that cannot be taken, and for wisdom to answer with dignity.

Human strength, even at its best, spends itself in due time and must fail. Apart from God it is not strength at all and must come to an end. But the promise stands, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31. And again, as thy days, so shall thy strength be. Deuteronomy 33:25. This provision is meant to meet weakness. It tells us we have no strength of our own, but have need of strength from above, given daily and given proportionately. A day of little suffering, little strength, but in a tremendous day, when you must play the Samson, you shall have Samson's strength. He gives strength just where the strength is needed, and of that peculiar kind which the trial demands.

We pray that the Lord Himself will strengthen you, for He says, I will strengthen them. When there remains no strength in you, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. He is the glory of your strength, Psalm 89:17, and all the glory of your strength lies in God alone. The joy of the Lord also is your strength, Nehemiah 8:10, a quiet inward joy which enables a man to bide his time and to bear reproach without being overcome by it.

Like Daniel, who gave distinct outward avowal of his convictions and found strength through secret communion with God to push on, may you be kept steady. Because you seek to walk uprightly, you shall find it easier to keep right whatever the discouragement may be. This is not to be attained in your own strength, but by the Holy Spirit who can work this in you.

We pray for you now. O Lord God, who gives power to the faint and to them that have no might increases strength, look upon this your servant who is mocked and disrespected for his accent. Let the hurtful words of others lose their power over his heart. Keep his peace in your keeping. Protect him from those who deliberately try to humiliate him, and set a guard over his lips and heart. Grant wisdom to respond with dignity and grace, patience not to become bitter, and courage to stand up for what is right when it is necessary. Renew his strength as he waits upon you, day by day, and let him prove that your strength is sufficient for each day's trouble. Let Christ, who was himself despised and mocked, be his comfort and example, and let your joy be his strength until this trial is past. In the name of Jesus, who died for the ungodly when we were yet without strength, we ask this. Amen.

Whenever you feel that the duty before you is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength. He will not give you strength to lay by, but strength enough to bear your sufferings and to do your duty, and that strength shall be as your days require. Wait upon the Lord, seek Him in secret prayer, and He will make you to stand.

I have heard your prayer and I join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, who sees how you are mocked and belittled for your accent and how those words have wounded your heart.

The pain of constant disrespect at work is real, and it is right to ask God for strength not to be crushed by it. Scripture teaches us to be of good courage always, not only in seasons of rest but also in seasons of tribulation and persecution. When we are watchful in Christ, whatever falls upon us we can bear and remain above it, as one who is stronger than any whirlpool. Insults, revilings, mockings and slanders need not have power over your peace, because your true dignity does not come from the opinions of others or from any position they hold, but from God who has put His honor upon you. Both the one who mocks and the one who is mocked stand equal before Him, and after a little while the praise of men passes away, but what God gives remains.

I pray that God will give you that kind of courage. True courage is not audacity or an unbridled tongue that returns insult for insult, but the boldness that speaks and acts with meekness and gentleness after the pattern of Christ. May the Lord grant you wisdom to know when to answer quietly with dignity, when to remain silent, and when to stand up for yourself with a clear and respectful word. May He guard your heart from bitterness, keep you from repaying mockery with mockery, and give you patience that does not grow weary in doing good.

Let us pray together. Father, look upon Your child who is humiliated and mocked each day. Protect this heart from those who deliberately try to wound it, and let hurtful words lose their power to steal peace. Fill this heart with Your presence, so that peace is kept not by the change of others but by Your nearness. Grant wisdom to respond with dignity, patience to endure without becoming bitter, and strength and good courage to stand up when it is right to do so. Let no insult define this life, but let Your love and Your calling be the measure of worth. Comfort, strengthen and uphold in Christ, and let this trial become a testimony of Your sustaining grace.
