We hear your honest confession and we thank you for sharing it with us, and we rejoice that you have turned back and asked to be reminded, for that is the work of God's grace drawing you. You said you have been ignoring Him and that you do not know what to say, that your brain is always full of energy and racing, and we want you to know that God is not disappointed by your lack of words, He is pleased by your honest heart.
The Lord knows our weakness when we do not know how to pray. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. Romans 8:26. You do not need perfect words, you only need to draw near to Him. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8. And when we confess that we have ignored Him or wandered, we have this promise, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and peace for our restless minds. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. To be saved and to know God, we believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died for our sins and God raised Him from the dead, and we confess Him as Lord. Romans 10:9. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ today, for He is the one who quiets the storm within us.
For your racing thoughts and that feeling that your brain is always full of energy, God offers a different way. Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We encourage you to set aside even a few quiet minutes each day to be still before Him, to read His Word, to breathe a simple prayer like Jesus, help me, or Father, I am here, and to cast all your worries on Him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together for this dear one who has honestly confessed ignoring You and feeling unable to find words, whose mind feels constantly full of energy and unrest. We thank You that You have stirred their heart to return and to ask to be reminded of You. Forgive them for turning away, cleanse them and draw them close as they draw near to You. Lord, we ask You to quiet their mind and give them Your perfect peace as they fix their thoughts on You. Teach them that they do not need eloquent words, that Your Spirit intercedes when they cannot speak, and help them to be still and know that You are God. Fill them with the assurance that they are loved, forgiven, and heard through the blood of Jesus Christ, and give them a renewed hunger for Your Word and Your presence each day. Guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus and lead them into rest. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to keep coming to Him simply and honestly, even with just a few words, and to let His Word renew your mind day by day. He hears you, He loves you, and He will give you rest.
