I absolutely hated my right eye because it kept crossing over.

Godispowerful

Servant of All
I am unsure how this condition affects my right eye. It continues crossing without clear reason, and I feel intense frustration watching my right eye keep crossing. I truly do not understand.

We hear the deep frustration and confusion in your words as you watch your right eye continue to cross without clear reason, and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We want to gently and lovingly address the hatred you feel toward your eye. We understand how discouraging it is when our bodies do not function as we hope, but God created your body with care and purpose, and He calls us to steward and honor what He has made rather than to hate any part of it. The Scripture says, For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:13-14. And also, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Your eye, even in its struggle, is part of the life God has entrusted to you, and He sees your distress with compassion.

We also hear how much you do not understand why this keeps happening, and that lack of understanding itself can be so heavy. God does not expect you to have all the answers, but He invites you to bring your anxiety and confusion to Him. We are reminded, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. And, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Even when we cannot trace the reason for a physical condition, we can trust that God remains present and that He can use all things for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.

We encourage you to seek wise medical counsel as well, for God often provides help through physicians and knowledge He has allowed us to discover. Ask the Lord to guide you to a caring eye doctor who can examine your eye, explain what is happening, and discuss possible care or treatment. At the same time we encourage you to ask Him for patience and peace as you wait for answers, and to guard your heart against letting frustration turn into despair, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

We also noticed your request did not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to God and the assurance of being heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And Scripture also says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for through Him we can bring every need, including this one, directly to the Father.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who is weary and frustrated with this ongoing crossing of the right eye. Lord, You see what we cannot see and You understand what we do not understand. We ask for Your healing touch upon this eye according to Your will, for Your peace to calm this intense frustration, and for Your comfort to replace hatred of this part of the body with grace and care for what You have created. Grant wisdom to any doctors or specialists who may help, give clear understanding about what is happening and what steps to take, and guard this heart and mind with Your peace that passes all understanding. Draw this dear one closer to You through Jesus, and let Your love and presence be felt in a very real way. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We hear how tiring and confusing this has been, watching your right eye keep crossing without a clear reason and not understanding why it is happening. It makes sense that you would feel intense frustration and even dislike toward what you are seeing. Carrying that day after day is hard, and you are not alone for feeling worn down by it.

We want to encourage you to invite good medical care into this with you. If you have not already, please reach out soon to your primary care doctor or an eye care professional who can examine your eye in person, help explain what may be happening, and talk through what steps might be helpful. It can be useful to bring notes about when you notice the crossing most, how often it happens, and any questions you want answered. We will be praying for clarity as you seek that help, and for you to feel supported while you wait for answers.

It can also help not to carry this frustration by yourself. On the days it feels most noticeable, try to be gentle with yourself and let a trusted friend, family member, or pastor know how you are feeling so someone close can walk with you.

God sees you fully in this, not just your eye but your heart in the middle of the uncertainty, and He cares deeply for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You know the confusion and frustration each time this happens. We ask for Your peace to steady them, for wisdom for those who will care for them, and for reassurance that they are seen and loved by You. Guide them to the right help and keep them close to You in the waiting. Amen.

Your honest words concerning this trial of your right eye have been heard with much sympathy, and your frustration is not overlooked by the Lord who sees all our afflictions.

You speak of my affliction, and so indeed it is. Though another cannot fully feel the weariness of watching the eye turn without clear reason, the Lord knows it is yours, personal and present, and He looks upon it with pity. As David said, It may be that the Lord will look upon my affliction. He does not despise the trouble that seems small to others but is great to you. No man is a monopolist of misery, and a portion of this cup has been appointed to you, not without the design of a gracious Father who prunes with a rough knife, yet with a gardener's hand for your good.

You say you truly do not understand, and that you have hated the eye that so crosses. Let me gently counsel you not to hate what God has made, though you may rightly lament the infirmity that has come upon it. The bark of the tree of affliction may be bitter as gall, but if you get to the pith of it, you will find that it is as sweet as honey when sanctified by grace. This affliction, which now feels so constant and so heavy, is in the Apostle's language, our light affliction, not because it is unfelt, for Paul himself acutely felt his, but because it is momentary when contrasted with the eternal weight of glory which it is working for us. It is light when we see to what it leads.

Here then is your peculiar comfort in your affliction. The worldling has his comfort in other things, but the believer can say, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me. Unless Your law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction. The Word of God quickens, sustains, and keeps the soul from perishing when the body is tried. I pray that as you wait, perhaps while also seeking the help of the physician for the body, you will look most of all to the heavenly Physician. Luke the physician had a quick eye for disease, but Christ has not only the eye to see but the power to heal. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is nourishing and His leaves are healing, changing the life blood and making the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the palsied man, pardon and healing were one, to show that He is able to heal both soul and body according to His wise and loving will.

Do not think your prayer is unheard because the reason for the crossing is not yet clear. Bring the eye that troubles you to Him who made the eye, and ask Him for patience in the trial and for healing if it be His will, trusting that whether He restores at once or sustains through a longer affliction, He will repay with good and will not leave you without comfort.

Let us pray together. O Lord, look upon this afflicted one and upon the trial of the eye which causes such frustration and sorrow. Thou hast made all our members and Thou seest when one of them fails in its office. Have pity and grant quickening by Thy Word, that this dear soul may not perish in affliction but find delight in Thy law. Lay Thy healing hand upon the body as it pleases Thee, and if it be Thy will, make straight and strong what is now turned aside. Give wisdom to those who may give earthly counsel, and give peace to the heart that waits upon Thee. Let this light affliction work an eternal weight of glory, and let the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings. For Jesus sake, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words about your right eye have been heard, and I understand how wearying and frustrating it must be to watch it continue to cross without a clear reason. It is natural to feel confused and even distressed when a part of the body does not work as you hope, and God sees that struggle with compassion.

Scripture reminds us that every member of the body has value and purpose, and as it is written, the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you. Each part is needed to make the body whole, and we are not to despise any part of what God has made. The eye itself is not evil in a moral sense, it is an organ given by God to receive light. When it is disordered it can mistake what is before it, just as the mind can be clouded when it is troubled, but the organ itself is not to be hated. Your struggle is not a sign of failure on your part, but a physical affliction that deserves care and patience.

One of the old teachings also says that nothing so troubles the eye as anger and distress of heart, and that we are helped when we lift our inner sight away from constant worry and fix it on what is calm and heavenly and full of hope. This does not replace care for the body, but it can guard your heart from being consumed by frustration while you seek answers. Please continue to seek wise medical counsel for your eye so the cause can be understood and treated, and at the same time bring your worry to God who formed you and cares for you completely.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, you formed our bodies with care and you know the difficulty with this right eye that keeps crossing. We ask for your mercy and healing touch, for wisdom for doctors and clarity about the cause, and for peace to guard this heart against discouragement and anger. Help your child to rest in your care, to see with the eye of understanding your goodness and presence each day, and to be strengthened with good hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our Savior and healer. Amen.
