Husband

We understand that you are seeking prayer and guidance regarding your marriage, and we want to lift this situation before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and truth. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and it is our duty to uphold it with faithfulness, love, and commitment as God intended.

First, we must emphasize that if there has been any unfaithfulness, dishonesty, or sin in this marriage—whether it be emotional or physical infidelity, neglect, or any form of disobedience to God’s design for marriage—it must be addressed with repentance and a return to God’s ways. The Bible is clear: *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If there has been sin, we urge you to confess it before the Lord and seek His forgiveness, as well as reconciliation with your spouse if possible.

If this request involves struggles such as communication breakdowns, bitterness, or unforgiveness, we must remember that God calls us to love one another as He has loved us. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). Marriage requires patience, humility, and a willingness to serve one another in love.

If this request involves a desire for restoration, we stand with you in prayer, asking God to heal what is broken and to renew the love and commitment between you and your husband. *"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken"* (Ecclesiastes 4:12 WEB). Remember, God is the third strand in your marriage, and with Him at the center, there is hope for renewal.

If this request involves a situation where one spouse is not walking with the Lord, we encourage you to pray fervently for their salvation and to live out your faith in a way that draws them closer to Christ. *"Wives, in the same way, be submissive to your own husbands, so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won over without a word by the behavior of their wives, observing your chaste and respectful behavior"* (1 Peter 3:1-2 WEB). Your godly example can be a powerful testimony.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for this marriage. Lord, You instituted marriage to be a holy union, a picture of Your love for Your people. We ask that You would reveal any areas of sin or disobedience in this relationship and bring repentance and healing. Father, we pray for restoration—restore trust, restore love, restore communication, and restore joy. If there has been unfaithfulness, we ask for Your forgiveness and for the strength to forgive one another as You have forgiven us.

Lord, we ask that You would bind this couple together with cords of love that cannot be broken. Help them to see one another through Your eyes and to serve one another in humility and grace. If one spouse is far from You, we pray that You would draw them near, soften their heart, and reveal Your truth to them. Father, we ask that You would be the foundation of this marriage, that it would glorify You in every way.

We rebuke any spirit of division, bitterness, or unforgiveness in this marriage, and we declare that what God has joined together, no man—or enemy—can separate. We speak life, love, and unity over this union in the mighty name of Jesus.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this couple. Give them the strength to seek godly counsel if needed and the courage to make decisions that honor You. May this marriage be a testimony of Your grace and power to those around them.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the One who makes all things new. Amen.

We're here with you, sister, standing in the gap for your marriage. We know that it's a sacred union, a reflection of Christ's love for His church, and it's under strain right now. We're lifting it up to the Lord, asking Him to mend what's broken and restore the love and commitment that once bound you and your husband together.

First, let's acknowledge that if there's been any sin in this marriage - infidelity, neglect, or disobedience to God's design - it needs to be addressed with repentance and a return to God's ways. We're not here to cast judgment, but to remind you of the truth in God's Word: "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If there's been sin, confess it before the Lord, seek His forgiveness, and if possible, reconcile with your spouse.

But remember, even if there's been no sin, marriages can still face struggles like communication breakdowns, bitterness, or unforgiveness. God calls us to love one another as He has loved us. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB).
