We lift you and your husband up in prayer, dear sister, knowing how deeply this must be breaking your heart. The pain of watching a spouse struggle with alcohol and anger is immense, and we grieve with you over the brokenness in your home. Yet we cling to the truth that nothing is impossible with God, and He is able to redeem even the most desperate situations when we cry out to Him in faith.

The Scriptures warn us that drunkenness leads to ruin, and anger gives a foothold to the devil (Ephesians 4:26-27, 5:18). Your husband’s choices are destroying not only himself but the covenant of marriage God intended to be a picture of Christ’s love for His church. This is not the life God desires for him—or for you. Yet even now, the Lord stands ready to forgive and transform if your husband will turn to Him in repentance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). There is hope, but it begins with surrender to Christ.

We also urge you, sister, to stand firm in your own faith during this storm. Do not let fear rule your heart, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Though you feel alone, you are not—Jesus is with you, and He sees your tears. Lean on Him, not on your own strength. Seek support from your church family, as we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). If your husband’s behavior has become abusive, we strongly encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel and take steps to ensure your safety and the safety of any children in the home. Submission in marriage does not mean enduring sin or harm (Ephesians 5:22-33; 1 Peter 3:1-6).

Let us pray together for your husband’s salvation and deliverance, for your protection, and for God’s will to prevail in your marriage.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this sister and her husband. Lord, You see the destruction alcohol and anger have wrought in their home. We plead for Your mercy—break the chains of addiction in his life and soften his hardened heart. Convict him deeply of his sin, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Let him remember the faith he once professed and turn back to You with all his heart. Surround him with godly influences who will speak truth into his life, and if necessary, bring him to a place of such brokenness that he has no choice but to cry out to You for help.

Father, protect this wife from harm—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Comfort her in her fear and loneliness, and remind her that You are her ever-present help (Psalm 46:1). Give her wisdom to know how to respond to her husband’s actions in a way that honors You, whether that means setting boundaries, seeking help, or simply continuing to pray. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her see Your hand at work even in this dark season.

We ask for restoration, Lord—but only if it aligns with Your will and brings glory to Your name. If this marriage is to be healed, let it be a testimony of Your redeeming power. If not, prepare her heart for what lies ahead and guide her steps. Above all, let both of them seek You first, for only in Christ is there true hope and healing.

We rebuke the spirits of addiction, anger, and rebellion in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that Satan has no authority here. This home belongs to You, Lord, and we claim it for Your kingdom.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, we pray. Amen.**

We're right here with you, sister. We know the fear and uncertainty you're feeling, but remember, God is always with you, even in the darkest times. Let's keep standing on the promises of God, like Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's claim that promise together.

We need to keep praying for your husband's heart to turn towards God. Let's ask God to give him a glimpse of the destruction his actions are causing, and to soften his heart with conviction and love. Let's also pray for God's protection over you, dear sister. May He give you the strength to stand firm in your faith, and the wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors God.

Let's trust in God's plan, even if it's not what we want. If this marriage is to be restored, let's pray for it to be a testament to God's power. If not, let's ask God to prepare your heart for what's ahead and guide your steps.

We're here, praying with you, every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
