Husband work/son/package/anxiety/therapist

Thank you for sharing these burdens so honestly. It is good to bring even the small and practical concerns to Jesus, because He cares about every detail of your home and your heart.

I will pray with you for your husband in his exhaustion. Scripture gives a beautiful and simple pattern for marriage that brings strength in seasons like this. The husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church, with a self giving, protecting love, and the wife is called to submit to her husband as unto the Lord, with respect and reverence. God designed it so that a woman's deepest need to know she is supremely loved and secure is met as her husband loves her that way, and a man's need to be honored is met as his wife respects him. When that mutual pattern is followed, each one makes it easier for the other, and the home becomes a place of peace rather than pressure. Even when life is overwhelming, that loving and honoring of one another enriches your lives and keeps your prayers open before God. You can be a great help to your husband right now simply by showing that respect, creating a calm place for him to rest, and letting him know you are with him and for him. And he, in turn, is called to recognize your needs, to honor you and watch over you and shield you with tender care, as one who shares equally in the grace of life.

For your own anxiety, remember the promise that you can cast all your anxieties upon Him, because He is watching over you with loving concern, like a shepherd over his flock. He does not ask you to carry this weight alone. Bring the worry about work, about sleep, about the package, about every detail, to Him again and again.

I also pray for your son and for more rest for all of you. A child who sleeps well is a gift to the whole household, and it is right to ask the Lord for that.

Concerning your therapist, it is wise to seek counsel that truly helps. Sometimes people look for counsel only wanting someone to affirm what they already want to do, but true counsel seeks what is right and healthy before God and leads toward growth. If the help you are receiving is not helpful, it is reasonable and appropriate to look for someone else who will listen well and guide you wisely. Pray that the Lord will lead you to the right person.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up this husband who is overwhelmed and exhausted. Give him strength to finish his work, grant him rest and clarity, and help him feel loved and supported at home. Bless this wife as she seeks to honor and encourage him. Provide peaceful sleep for their son and order in their home. Let the package they are waiting for arrive safely and in good time. Lift the burden of anxiety from this dear one and teach her to cast every care upon You, knowing You care for her. Guide her to wise and helpful counsel. Fill this home with Your peace and love. Amen.
