Husband so sick/work/mother

Beloved of All
Jesus please let my husband get better. He is so sick and has to go to work. He needs rest. Please heal him. Please also let my mother feel better, she is so depressed and her memory is starting to go and she will not go to a doctor, because she doesn't see the problem. Please let her feel better and at least try to talk to someone. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We join with you in bringing your husband and your mother before the Lord in Jesus' name and we thank you for calling upon His name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find healing and hope.

We lift up your husband to the Lord. We know how heavy it is to watch the one God has joined with you in marriage suffer and still carry the burden of needing to work. Marriage is a holy gift from God and your love and concern for him reflects that covenant. We pray for the Lord's healing touch upon his body and for the rest he so desperately needs. Scripture reminds us that He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:2-3 and that He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might He increases strength in Isaiah 40:29. We also remember the promise that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:15. We ask God to give you both wisdom to steward his health well, to seek medical care when needed, and to make provision for rest, for even the Lord calls us to come to Him when we are weary and burdened and He will give us rest in Matthew 11:28. We pray his employer will show understanding and that God will provide strength and relief.

We also bring your mother before the Lord with tender hearts. We hear your concern for her depression and for the changes in her memory, and how painful it is when a loved one does not see the need for help. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18. We pray that God would lift the heaviness from her heart and bring her peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, and that He would grant her clarity of mind and willingness to receive care. A cheerful heart is good medicine in Proverbs 17:22, and we ask the Lord to restore joy to her. We pray for wisdom for you as you honor your mother as commanded in Exodus 20:12, to speak to her with gentle persistence, love and patience, and to help her see that seeking counsel and medical advice is a wise and God-honoring step. We pray God will open her heart to talk to someone, whether family, a trusted counselor, or a doctor, and that He will guide you to the right words and the right time. We cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7 and we trust He hears your cry.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this beloved husband. Please place Your healing hand upon him, ease his sickness, restore his strength, and grant him the rest his body needs. Provide for his work needs and give him favor and understanding in his workplace. Lord, we also lift up this dear mother. You see her sadness and the confusion in her memory. Please comfort her, lift her depression, clear her mind, and soften her heart to accept help and to speak with someone who can care for her. Give her daughter wisdom, patience, and words of love to encourage her. Fill this home with Your peace, sustain this wife as she carries these burdens, and let her feel Your presence and strength each day. We trust Your goodness and Your will, and we ask all these things in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring these needs to the Lord daily, to encourage your husband to seek care and to rest as the Lord leads, and to continue to lovingly and gently encourage your mother toward help while surrounding her with prayer, presence, and support. The Lord is our healer and our refuge, and He will not forsake you. Fear not, for He is with you in Isaiah 41:10.

We hear how heavy this feels, loving a husband who is sick but still has to work, and a mother who is struggling while not wanting help. Carrying concern for both at once is a lot, and it makes sense you are weary and worried.

We are praying with you for your husband, for healing and for real rest, and for your mother, for comfort and clarity and a willingness to receive support. Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to keep pointing them toward care from trusted medical professionals. If your husband has not yet been seen, helping him connect with his primary care clinic and being honest with his workplace about needing time to recover can be an important next step. For your mother, since she does not see the problem herself, a calm, loving conversation and offering to go with her to an appointment can sometimes open a door. If she has a regular doctor, sharing your concerns with that office can also help them know how to support her. You do not have to carry this alone, so inviting another family member, pastor, or trusted friend to walk with you may help lighten the load.

Father, we bring this husband before You and ask for Your mercy on his body, for healing and for the rest he needs, and for help with the pressures of work. We bring this mother before You and ask for Your peace over her heart and mind, and for wisdom for her family as they love her well and seek good care for her. Give strength and wisdom and rest to the one who is caring for them both. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. Selah" (Psalm 68:19) Father thank You for Your Love, Kindness, Faithfulness! Humbly ask Please help this family in every area mentioned, bring healing, give them the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Thank You in advance in Jesus Name Amen.

Your prayer for your husband and your mother has been laid before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours at the throne of grace.

We know how heavy it is to watch one you love suffer and yet be compelled to labour. You may have a house full of love and full of sickness at the same time, for as we see with Peter's wife's mother, who lay prostrate with a great fever, even the households of the faithful are not spared trial in the flesh. The Lord did not pass her by. He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her. So we may bring your husband to that same gracious Physician who took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, and who on earth cured all manner of disease. There was no sickness He could not heal, and there is none now beyond the reach of His mercy.

We pray that the Lord Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings, will lay His healing hand upon your husband, ease his sickness, and grant him the rest his body so sorely needs. We ask the Father to provide for his work and to give him strength for each day, and quiet sleep to restore him. Look to Christ as the Great Physician, for His very leaves are for healing, and the least thing about Christ has virtue in it to restore the faint and weary. Even now, faith comes by hearing the Word, and that Word applied by the Holy Spirit is the means of healing for soul and body.

For your dear mother also we intercede. The Lord heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and He sees her heaviness of spirit and the failing of her memory. It is a tender and difficult burden when one who is declining does not see her own need. We pray that God, in His kindness, will lift the cloud of depression from her, clear and comfort her mind, and gently incline her heart to receive help and to be willing to talk with someone who can care for her. We ask that He will give you wisdom and patience and soft words, that a door may be opened for her to seek counsel without fear, and that she may know she is deeply loved and not alone.

Remember that healing and pardon flow together from the same hand, and that whatever present chastisement a loving Father appoints, it is not as a Judge punishing, but as a Father caring for His own. In this life we shall know some sickness and sorrow, but there is a Tree of Life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, and beneath its shade sickness and suffering are banished forever. Until that day, we rest in this, that Christ has borne all for us and will not leave His people without comfort.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will restore your husband to health and give him rest, and that He will cheer and strengthen your mother, and guide her to willing and wise help. Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and He hears the cry of those who call upon His name.

May the God of all comfort keep you in peace as you wait upon Him, and may you see His gracious answer in His own good time and way. Amen.
