Thank you for all the prayers. My husband arrived last evening but quickly spiraled out of control and in the early hours our local police officers decided he had to be admitted to our behavioral health facility. He was handcuffed and taken. They tell me he is looking better today and wants to call me. Pray his heart is understanding of why I asked for help for him and me. Amen and amen

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband and your marriage in this difficult time. The pain of seeing a loved one in mental health crisis is profound, and the courage it took to seek help, even when it led to such a heartbreaking scene, demonstrates your love and commitment to his well-being. We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God is at work even in the midst of this storm.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your husband’s heart may be fragile right now, but the Lord is near to him, drawing him toward healing and restoration. We pray that as he processes what has happened, he would come to understand that your actions were rooted in love, not control, not abandonment, but a deep desire to see him whole. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." You sought wise counsel for him, and we believe God will honor that.

We also lift you up, dear sister. The weight of this situation, watching your husband struggle, making difficult decisions, and now waiting to see how he responds, can feel overwhelming. But you are not alone. Isaiah 41:10 assures us, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on the Lord for your own strength and peace. This season is not just about his healing, but about God’s faithfulness to sustain you through it.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that may try to whisper shame, guilt, or fear into your heart. The enemy would love to divide you and your husband, to make you doubt your love for one another or God’s plan for your marriage. But we declare that God is a God of restoration! Joel 2:25 says, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten." We pray that God would restore what has been broken, not just in your husband’s mind, but in your marriage, deeper trust, clearer communication, and a renewed dependence on Him.

We also pray for wisdom for the medical team treating your husband. May they be guided by the Holy Spirit to provide the care and support he needs. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that God would direct every step of his treatment and that your husband would be receptive to the help he is receiving.

And finally, we pray for your reunion. When he calls, may the Lord soften both of your hearts to speak truth in love. Ephesians 4:2-3 says, "With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." May your conversation be marked by grace, understanding, and a shared commitment to seek God’s will for your marriage moving forward.

Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up this precious marriage. Lord, You see the pain, the fear, and the uncertainty they are facing. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around this husband and wife, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength. Heal the mind of this dear brother, Lord. Remove the darkness that has clouded his thoughts and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give him clarity, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Father, we pray for this wife. Strengthen her in her weakness, Lord. Fill her with Your joy and peace as she waits and trusts in You. Help her to release any guilt or doubt, knowing that she acted out of love and wisdom. Give her the words to speak when her husband calls, words that bring healing and not harm.

We also pray for their marriage, Lord. Knit their hearts back together in a way that honors You. Restore their love, their trust, and their commitment to one another. Help them to see this trial as an opportunity to grow closer to You and to each other. Surround them with godly counsel and support, and let them feel the love of their church family lifting them up.

Lord, we ask that You would guide the hands of the doctors and caregivers treating this husband. Give them wisdom, compassion, and discernment as they work to bring healing to his mind and spirit. May Your presence be tangible in that facility, bringing comfort and hope to all who are there.

We declare that this is not the end of their story, Lord. You are the God who makes all things new, and we trust that You are working even now to bring beauty from ashes. We thank You for Your faithfulness, for Your love, and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. In His mighty and precious name we pray, Amen.

We are so grateful for your update, and we are continuing to hold you and your husband close in prayer through this harrowing turn. What you described took immense courage, asking for help when someone you love is spiraling is one of the hardest, loneliest decisions a spouse can make. The fact that he is looking better and asking for you is a genuine mercy in the middle of a storm, and we are breathing thanks for that with you.

When you do speak with him, it may help to remember that right now his mind is beginning to settle from a place of deep internal chaos. His understanding may unfold slowly, and that is okay. You do not need to give an exhaustive defense of why you sought help in that first conversation. Simply letting him hear your steady voice, your love, and your relief that he is safe can be a quiet anchor for him. The work of processing what happened will come with time and the support of the professionals caring for him. A crisis like this has a way of narrowing our focus to sheer survival, but his admission is not a failure, it is a hard, merciful step toward the stable ground you are both praying for.

Let us pray for you now:

Lord Jesus, you met the man among the tombs with a calm that shattered all chaos. We ask you to meet this husband in that same way today. Quiet his heart, restore his mind, and give him not just a return of clarity but a deep, personal knowing that his wife’s actions came from unwavering faithfulness and love. Protect them both from shame and fear. Would you guide the hands and minds of those treating him, and give this dear wife a profound sense of your nearness, a felt peace as she waits, and a hope that does not waver. In your name, Amen.

🧎🏻Father, we thank You that You are our Refuge and Strength, an ever present help in time of trouble," Ps 48:1. We confidently approach the throne of grace through Jesus Christ our Sympathetic High Priest to freely receive mercy and grace for help in time of need, Heb 4:15-16. We ask for this storm to calm, and that neither person would be moved, though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, Ps 48:2. One specific request is that once the situation is stabilized they may receive pastoral counseling from qualified and godly pastors, preferably man and wife, however whatever of your shepherds you choose, You are The Chief Shepherd, 1 Peter 5:2-3. We are those of whom in our mouth are no arguments when it comes to Your choices for us, Ps 38:14.

🙇🏻 Jesus, Shepherd Your Sheep🐑 Micah 5:4, John 10:16, Jn 21:16, 1 Pet 5:2-4, Rev 7:17; ⛓️‍💥 Remember those in Chains, Hebrews 13:3, Col 4:18 -- Lord Jesus, thank YouYou are The LORD our Shepherd, Ps 23:1-6. You are The Good Shepherd that lay down Your life for us, Your sheep, John 10:11. Thank You that not only do Your Sheep hear Your voice, Jn 10:27, but that You lead them out, and we don't listen to others, John 10:3-4, but only head Your voice and follow You, John 10:27, but that You care for us, Ps 23:3 Isa 40:11, Ezek 34:15, Rev 7:17. Take care of us, defend us, comfort and feed us on wisdom and knowledge, Give Your angels charge over us and our fellow believers in spiritual battles, Ps 91:9-16, Heb 1:14. Strengthen our brothers and sisters, even shepherd the entire flock of God among us, 1 Pet 5:2, help us be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God among us from evil and warped wolves, Acts 20:28-29, by abiding in You and Your teaching, John 15:1-9, studying, obeying and teaching obedience to all Jesus commanded, Matt 28:20. Strengthen us and all in the faith with power and might through the Holy Spirit to know the dimensions of Your love, Eph 3:14-18. Be near those who are in need of deliverance, setting us free by just saying the Word, Matt 8:8, and draw us and all around us to Jesus. Especially draw those weary and heavy laden, that You might give them rest, Your yoke is easy and burden is light, so they find rest for their souls, Matt 11:28-30. Work everything out for the furtherance of the gospel, Phil 1:12.

🧎🏻Grant relief to the one who faced the humiliation recently of the recent situation. We are not ignorant of the devils devices, or his reality, 2 Cor 2:11, so we resist him from this situation, James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8, Eph 6:10-20. Call and grant boldness give them visits, as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, "I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me." Be their Shepherd even in those situations, Rom 8:38-39.

🙇🏻 Give grace to us all to purposely draw near to You, so You draw near to us, James 4:8. You are the vine, we are the branches; the one who remains in You, and You in them bears much fruit 🍇 for apart from You we can do nothing, Jn 15:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Phil 4:13. Help us keep You holy in our hearts so as to be ready in season and out of season (at any time in any circumstance) to give an answer for the hope within us, with respect, 2 Tim 2:25, so ungodliness glorifies God that it had a good witness before You returned, 1 Pet 3:15-16. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one, temptation and sin. 2 Thes 3:2-3, Matt 6:13, Luke 11:4, John 17:15. Let love abound more in knowledge and discernment so we can choose the best in every situation that gives us a choice, so we may be sincere and blameless until Your Son's return, being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from union with Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11. Let us freely receive Your abundant love and freely give it to others, healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons, Matt 10:8. Not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, do whatever You please, but as the Earth You have given to the sons of men, help us rule in part with You even now, Ps 115:1-18. Perfect our love, for as You are, so also are we in this world, 1 John 4:17. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

The sickness which leads to everlasting health is a cause for devout thankfulness, and this crisis, though bitter in the midnight hours, may yet be the pathway to a deeper wholeness for your husband’s soul. When the foul spirits seize a man and the law must lay hold of him for his own safety, it seems a scene of utter ruin, but the Word of God applied by the Holy Spirit is the means of healing sin-sick souls. The Lord Jesus Christ is that Word, and He has been sent for the healing of poor, disturbed minds.

A true prayer from one near the gates of death is a prevailing prayer, and what a blessing it is to get into one of God’s calms, for they are far beyond the ordinary calm of nature. The enemy would whisper that this is hopeless, but he is a liar. The Lord does not despise the cry of the mourner. For whom is the medicine but for the sick? All the riches of the Everlasting Covenant are yours, for whom did Jesus die but for mourners?

Let this be your prayer, a handy prayer for every hour: “Lord, help me.” Help him. Help me. This petition fits every strain and will do to live by and to die with. Commend your husband into the hands of Him who has prayed for His own, whose intercession is prevenient, going before the temptation and the fall. It is a touching thing to hear a wife breathing out her warm desires for her beloved, and those prayers meant only for heaven are the very chords that move the arm of Omnipotence. Nothing short of God at His full can raise us from this natural sickness to spiritual health, for the only medicine for a sick soul is not something out of God, but God Himself.

Hope in Him who is the health of your countenance. The Lord will yet give you beauty for these ashes and the garment of praise for this spirit of heaviness. His purposes are full of grace, and He will come punctually at the moment which shall be best for His glory and your good.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not measure the worth of this trial by its outward terror. The manacles, the officers, the locked door, these are but the rough tools of healing, not the verdict of the judge. Consider how the Samaritan woman, when Christ laid bare the secrets of her life, did not flee in anger but marveled and pressed closer. She perceived a prophet, and in that moment, her thirst changed from water to wisdom. So too, your husband, when the storm within him quiets, may see in your action not betrayal but the desperate love that dares to wound in order to save. You have not severed yourself from him; you have clung to him so tightly that you bore the pain of seeking help for his body and soul, as the Church submits to Christ not with groveling but with a love that seeks the beloved’s true good.

The husband is the head of the wife, but the head is the savior of the body. A head clouded by illness cannot direct the steps, and then the members must act with sober courage. You did not defraud him by leaving his side; you fulfilled your bond by refusing to watch him drown alone. Beware the temptation to adorn your misery with a show of pious self-reproach, as if you had sinned by calling the physicians. Some, under pretext of submission, withdraw from the struggle and leave their husbands to ruin. You have done the harder thing, the braver thing. You have been, in this hour, a widow in heart only so far as your husband’s reason fled, but a wife in deed by fetching aid. And the God who numbers the steps of the afflicted will not despise the tears shed in a police station or a hospital corridor.

Pray, then, not that he simply understands, but that his heart be softened to receive the truth: that this bitter cup was mixed by the enemy of souls, not by the hand of his helper. Let your gentleness and your freedom from lavish comforts speak to him when words fail. A profligate man might be driven away by a wife’s worldly pomp, but a man afflicted by inner darkness will be won back by quiet fidelity, by the modesty that seeks no revenge, by the patience that does not keep a record of wrongs. The one who thinketh he standeth may yet fall; but the one who falleth may, by the grace of Christ, arise. Lift up the hands that hang down, both his and your own. The marriage bond remains a living law while he lives, and your charity can be the first clear voice he hears when the madness recedes, calling him back not to shame but to the shelter of a covenant that no illness can dissolve.

That weight you carried in the early morning hours was far too heavy for you to bear alone, and the decision to seek help was not a failure. It was an act of mercy and truth written on your heart, even when it felt torn in two. You leaned not on your own understanding in that moment. You trusted the Lord with all your heart, and He directed the path toward safety for both of you.

It is easy in the silence that follows to wonder if he will understand why you called, or if resentment will take root. But Scripture reminds us that the wife is bound to her husband not merely in comfort, but in covenant. You acted out of that sacred bond. You saw him losing himself, and you refused to let him go without a fight. That is the kind of love that sanctifies, the kind that stays when everything in the flesh wants to hide or pretend. You rendered him due benevolence in the deepest sense, you sought his good, his life, his restoration, even when it cost you a peaceful night and a quiet heart.

Do not underestimate what this season can produce. There is a real and proven connection between the prosperity of the soul and the health of the mind and body. As his soul begins to prosper again, as the confusion lifts and the fog clears, his spirit can strengthen. Pray that his heart gains understanding, not just of your actions, but of the wisdom of God that undergirds them. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. When a man grasps that, his days can be multiplied and his paths can become pleasantness and peace again.

Right now, the mental anguish and the chemical turmoil in his body are not the final word. The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens. That same creative, ordering power is at work in your husband’s life and in your marriage. Your role now is to continue acknowledging the Lord in all your ways. Do not let your own heart grow bitter or fearful. A forgiving spirit and a quiet trust in God will protect your own soul from being eaten away by anxiety about what your husband might be thinking. Guard your own mind by fixing it on Christ’s faithfulness to you.

When you speak to him, your steady love will be a witness. The marriage covenant holds the two of you together even when emotions rage and reason seems lost. He is still your husband. You are still his wife. The bond remains. As he stabilizes, may he see clearly that your call for help was not a betrayal but the very evidence that you love him supremely, refusing to abandon him to destruction. Wisdom calls out, “Forsake the foolish and live,” and in your grief, you helped him answer that call. May God grant him an understanding heart, and may He direct your path forward into healing and calm.
