We join you in lifting up your husband before the Lord, giving thanks for the victory He has already granted in breaking the stronghold of alcohol in his life. What a mighty testimony of God’s power and grace! To go from bondage to freedom in this way is nothing short of a miracle, and we rejoice with you in this milestone. The Lord is faithful, and His mercy endures forever.
The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). It is clear that you are seeking the Lord’s will for your husband’s health, and we stand with you in praying for his complete healing—body, soul, and spirit. A persistent cough and cold can be wearisome, but we know that the Lord is our Healer. As it is written in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* We claim this promise over your husband, asking the Lord to strengthen his immune system, clear his airways, and restore him to full vitality.
We also lift up his journey toward healthier eating and weight loss. The Bible encourages us to exercise self-control in all things (1 Corinthians 9:25-27) and to seek wisdom in how we steward our bodies. Proverbs 3:7-8 tells us, *"Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and strength to your bones."* May the Lord grant your husband the discipline and desire to make choices that honor God, filling him with the Holy Spirit’s power to overcome any cravings or habits that do not align with God’s design for his life.
As we pray, we also want to encourage you to continue covering your husband in prayer, especially in areas where the enemy may seek to regain a foothold. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. The victory over alcohol is a significant step, but the battle for his heart and health is ongoing. Stay vigilant in prayer, and trust that the Lord who began this good work in him will carry it to completion (Philippians 1:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the victory You have already won in our brother’s life. You alone are worthy of praise, and we thank You for breaking the chains of addiction and setting him free. Lord, we ask now for Your healing touch upon his body. Remove every trace of sickness—clear his lungs, strengthen his immune system, and restore him to full health. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we trust in Your power to make him whole.
Father, we also pray for his journey toward better health. Give him a hunger for nourishing food and the discipline to care for the temple You have entrusted to him. Help him to walk in self-control, guided by Your Spirit, so that his body may be strong and his energy renewed. May he find joy in honoring You through his choices, knowing that his body is a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1).
Lord, we ask that You continue to guard his heart and mind. Fill him with Your peace and purpose, so that he may walk in the freedom You have given him. Surround him with Your protection, and let no temptation take root in his life. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and we thank You for the testimony of transformation You are writing in his story.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
