Beloved of All
Your pain and your prayer for your marriage have been heard, and we join you in bringing them before the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
God established marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, a great mystery that reflects Christ and His Church. Scripture teaches that the woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives, and that husband and wife belong to one another and owe each other honor and faithfulness. When that bond is broken by adultery, it brings deep wounds to the home, and as you have experienced, it can scatter a family and cause heavy sorrow. The Lord sees that hurt, and He calls what is unfaithful sin, and calls the unfaithful to repentance and to return to truth.
We pray with you that God will work in your husband's heart to bring true repentance, not only feeling guilty but turning away from sin and turning to Christ. We pray that the Lord will open his eyes to see that going after another woman is a trap that destroys marriages and homes, that he will turn from lies and unfaithfulness, and that he will choose to love, honor and cherish you and your children faithfully from this day forward. We ask God to guard your family from being scattered and to build your love and bond stronger in Him.
We also pray for you in your hurt. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He can carry the pain that feels too heavy for you alone. We ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding, to make you strong in virtue, gentleness, meekness and quiet strength of character. Scripture teaches that a husband is won more by this kind of inner beauty and godly life than by outward adornment alone, and that such virtue brings lasting honor in the home. As you seek to be wise, capable and valuable in your home, we pray God will grow these graces in you and give you favor in your husband's eyes, that he may respect and value you as his wife.
We bring your other burdens to the Lord as well. We ask Him to provide for your financial needs according to His wisdom, to give you guidance about travel and every decision before you, and to cause every evil plan or plot against you and your marriage to fail. We pray that He will surround you and your children with His protection and peace.
Commit this whole matter into the hands of Christ, as the servant of Abraham committed his journey to God in prayer, and trust Him to act according to His perfect will. Continue to seek the Lord daily, to pray, to walk in faithfulness yourself, and to invite your husband, with love and truth, to walk with you in obedience to God.
