Humble Prayer Partner
Hello, my husband needs his medication and he won't take them. He is having an awful struggle with voices and it feels demonic. Please pray that God will intervene in a divine way to help me and my children. I'm afraid and I want him to get help. Please pray for divine healing and that God will break this curse on his life and his mind. Pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort him and that he will sleep at night. Pray for his deliverance and that he finds employment. As a follow up to this situation; This is the second time I'm posting this but three months ago we started attending church. He has a men's group but we are still praying for his deliverance. Thank you so much. The voices are not as bad at night since I first posted this so please, please keep praying for us.

We have heard your heart and we are standing with you in prayer for your husband, for you and for your children. We thank God with you that the voices are not as bad at night as they were before and that you have found a church home and that your husband is connected to a men's group. That is a good step of obedience and fellowship and we praise God for that progress while we continue to cry out for his complete deliverance and healing.

We understand your fear and the heavy burden of watching your husband struggle with voices and refuse his medication. We want to speak with both compassion and truth. Scripture tells us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy does seek to steal, kill and destroy and we do not dismiss that this battle has a spiritual dimension. At the same time God in His wisdom often uses doctors and medicine as instruments of His mercy and to refuse prescribed medication can leave the mind more vulnerable to torment and confusion. Taking medication is not a lack of faith, it is stewardship of the body God has given. We encourage you to continue to urge your husband with gentleness to take his medication as prescribed and to stay under the care of his doctor, and to invite his pastor and the men in his group to come alongside you both for accountability, counsel and prayer. If at any time you or your children feel unsafe, please reach out immediately to your pastor, a trusted family member or appropriate help in your area. God calls us to seek wisdom and protection for our households.

We also hear you speak of a curse on his life and mind. We want to remind you that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us Galatians 3:13. There is no curse that is stronger than the blood of Jesus. The voices that harass him must bow to the name of Jesus. We resist the enemy together with you. Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8. We rebuke those tormenting voices and every demonic oppression that would seek to bind your husband's mind and we ask God to break every chain and to bring soundness, clarity and peace.

We noticed your request speaks of God and the Holy Spirit but does not mention Jesus. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father and no other name by which we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection, that we have access to God and assurance of deliverance. If you have not already, we encourage you both to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. We pray in Jesus' name because He is our mediator and our deliverer.

We are praying for God's peace to guard your home. God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Do not be anxious in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter will comfort your husband, calm his mind, and grant him deep and restful sleep. In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. We pray that Yahweh who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 will heal your husband completely, body, mind and spirit.

We join our faith with yours for his employment as well, that God would open a door for work that honors Him and provides for your family. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord Colossians 3:23.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this husband to You. You see his struggle, You hear the voices that torment him, You know his sleepless nights and his resistance to help. We ask You to intervene in a divine way. Lay Your healing hand upon his mind and body. Break every chain, silence every lying voice, and let every spirit of confusion and fear flee at the name of Jesus. Fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit, with Your comfort, Your peace and Your sound mind. Lead him to willingly receive the help he needs, to take his medication faithfully, to walk in honesty with his doctors, his pastor and his men's group. Restore his sleep at night and guard his thoughts day and night. Protect this wife and these children, surround this home with Your angels, keep them safe and give this wife wisdom, strength and courage. Provide for this family, open the right door for employment and let Your provision and purpose be seen. We declare that You are near to those who have a broken heart and You save those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We trust You to finish the deliverance You have begun. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our Savior and deliverer, amen.

We encourage you to keep meeting with your church, keep sharing honestly with mature believers, keep praying aloud the Word of God over your husband and your home, and keep documenting and celebrating every small victory like the improved nights. God is at work. We are continuing to contend with you for full healing, complete deliverance, restored sleep and open doors for work.

We are so glad you wrote again and shared how things have shifted these last three months. Hearing that you and your husband have found a church home and that he has a men's group means a lot, and that the voices are not as bad at night is an encouragement we thank God for with you. We also hear how heavy this still feels, wanting help for your husband while carrying concern for yourself and your children.

It makes sense that you feel torn and afraid when he will not take medication that has been prescribed and is still struggling to sleep and find steady work. Loving someone through this kind of struggle is exhausting, and you have shown such faithfulness in seeking both prayer and practical help.

One thing that can help in this season is to keep your supports closely connected. If you have not already, we encourage you to stay in touch with his medical provider about the medication concerns alongside prayer, not instead of it, and to let a trusted pastor or the men's group leader know how things are at home so you are not carrying this alone. Some families find it helpful to keep a simple daily note of sleep patterns and any concerns to share with the provider, and to have a clear plan for who you can call quickly if you ever feel unsafe.

Father, we lift this husband to You for healing and deliverance, for rest at night and peace in his mind, and for open doors to work. We lift his wife and children to You for protection, comfort and wisdom for each next step. Guide them to the right help and surround them with steady, caring community. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden with heaviness of heart and have carried you and your household to the throne of grace. The Lord has not shut His ear to your cry, and what you have told us of fear and watching and waiting, He has seen in the night and in the day.

We give thanks with you that since you first asked for prayer the voices have not been so sore upon your husband in the night season. This is a mercy, and we take it as an earnest that He who has begun to give a measure of quiet will perfect that which concerneth you. He giveth His beloved sleep, and that sleep is not only of the body but of the soul made content and secure in Him. We have prayed that the Lord will grant to your husband such sleep, that his mind may be stayed and his body refreshed, and that you and your children may also know the peace which comes from being kept within His borders.

You ask for deliverance, and we point you to Him who alone can bring forth from the pit. Deliverance from a cruel captivity must be wrought by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone, and He has found a ransom. Jesus Christ our Lord has borne the curse, for it is written that Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. There is no curse that can hold where His blood has been pleaded. The healing leaves of that tree which is planted for the healing of the nations have virtue even in the least touch of Christ. Pardon and healing are joined together in Him, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, the soul that sat in midnight is made to rejoice.

We pray earnestly for your husband, that the Lord will deliver him from every oppression of darkness and from the confusion that now vexes his mind, that the Holy Spirit will comfort him and seal instruction upon his heart, and that the Lord will incline him to receive the help that is needful. Medicines and physicians are among the mercies which God has provided, and we pray that He will give your husband willingness and clarity to take that which is appointed for his good, and give wisdom to those who care for him. We pray also that the Lord will open a door for honest employment, that he may provide and find purpose and steadiness in labour.

For you and your children we ask the keeping of the Lord. He is a Husband to His people in faithfulness and tender care, and He communeth lovingly with those who trust Him. He will not forget nor forsake. Though you have passed through the brook full of fear and trembling, may you find as Jacob did that the Lord goes before you and turns the heart of man and the course of trial to His own gracious end.

Continue as you have begun, abiding in the fellowship of the church and in the help of that mens group where your husband is known and watched over. Let the elders of the church know your need more fully, and seek also the prompt help of trusted medical counsel and those near you who can help you keep your household safe, for the Lord often works deliverance by means as well as by miracle. Cast your care upon Him, and watch unto prayer, for He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

We will keep praying for you, for your husband's full deliverance and healing of mind, for quiet nights and sound rest, for the breaking of every chain, for the comfort of the Holy Spirit in your home, and for provision in daily bread and work. May the Lord bring you forth with enrichment out of this trial, not as those who boast in themselves, but as those who can say, He brought us forth, and blessed be His name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have read your request and the update you shared, and we are praying for you, your husband and your children. Thank you for letting us know that you have begun to attend church and that he has joined a men's group, and that the voices are not as bad at night as before. We thank God for that mercy and we will continue to pray with you for his full deliverance and healing.

We are praying that God will intervene in a divine way according to His wisdom and mercy, that He will bring deliverance to your husband's mind, break every curse through the power of Jesus Christ, and grant him comfort by the Holy Spirit, peaceful sleep at night, and clarity to receive help. We pray that the Lord will give him willingness to take the medication that has been prescribed and to work faithfully with his doctors, and that God will use those means together with prayer and the ministry of the church for his good. We pray also for his employment, that God will open a fitting door for work and provide for your family.

In these trials it is important to keep seeking help through the right means. Please continue to encourage your husband to take his medication as directed and to stay under the care of his doctor, and to stay connected to his pastor and to the men's group. Hearing the word of God carefully and continually, with fortitude and prayer, is part of how God strengthens us and delivers us from worldly oppression. If you feel afraid for yourself or your children, please reach out right away to your pastor and to trusted family or medical help so that you are not carrying this alone and so that everyone in the home is safe.

God has joined husband and wife in a lifelong covenant, and He calls the husband to be the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, and calls the wife to support her husband with submission as unto the Lord. Scripture teaches that the wife is bound to her husband while he lives and should not depart from him, but remain and be reconciled and seek his good. The most powerful way to help a struggling husband is not by outward display, but by gentleness, meekness and quiet propriety, doing what you can willingly for your own sake before the Lord and for love of your family. This kind of patient love does not irritate, but wins and builds up.

We are praying for you as well, that the Holy Spirit will comfort you and give you strength each day, and that your children will be guarded and comforted. We pray that God will give you wisdom, rest, and the continual support of the church body around you.

Father in heaven, we lift this husband, his wife and their children to You through Jesus Christ Your Son. Have mercy and bring deliverance to his mind, quiet the voices that trouble him, grant him peaceful sleep, and comfort him by Your Holy Spirit. Break every curse and let Your healing power be known. Give him grace to receive the help that is offered, to take his medication faithfully, and to walk in Your way. Provide for this family, grant employment as You will, and keep this marriage strong in love and faithfulness. Let Your word dwell richly in their home and let them be strengthened by hearing it and keeping it. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

Please keep letting your church family know how you are doing, so they can pray and walk with you closely in the days ahead.
