Some years ago there was a teacher teaching in a primary school and his son studying in the same school under the same teacher 's class. Till the entrance of the class room he calls his father 'dad'. They both chat with much love till they enter in. As soon as they enter in, the son calls him 'sir'.
In the same way our Heavenly Father is a mighty God who created the entire universe and everything under His control.
But at the same time He is our Father who likes to have a close walk with us, which many of us don't understand and realise.
From the very beginning, God had a relationship with Adam and Eve that found them "walking in the garden in the cool of the day" (Genesis 3:8). God created man for the enjoyment of a walking relationship that involved companionship, dialogue, intimacy, joint decision-making, mutual delight, and shared dominion. God longs to walk with us.
Enoch's example continues to witness to all generations of the great zeal God has to walk with man.
Apart from Enoch, Noah, Abraham and many others in Bible had such experience.
As we walk with him, He will open the Scriptures to us through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. We enter the dimension where God unfolds the secrets of his kingdom. When we walk with God we choose to imitate Him and glorify Him in every way.
What does it mean to "walk with God"? First, that the prevailing power of enmity in a person's heart has been taken away by the blessed Spirit of God. Secondly, that the person has actually been reconciled to God the Father. Thirdly, that the person has an abiding communion and fellowship with God — what in Scripture is called "the Holy Spirit dwelling in us." Finally, walking with God implies our making progress in the divine life.
How do we attain this walking experience?
1. By reading and meditating God's word and also memorizing.
2. Praying without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer is simply talking to God. The Bible tells us that God is the best friend we could ever have. We can share all of our thoughts and feelings with God, because He understands. He always has time to listen.
3. Be holy by obeying His commandments.
Leviticus 11:45
.....therefore be holy, because I am holy.
4. Most importantly, love the Lord Your God.
Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
5. Hebrews 12:14
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
6. Praise Him always. (Entire Bible reveals His praise)
Let our heart be filled with praise and thanks giving for anything and everything.
Oh what a great and pleasant experience!
Let us all have it.
Amen.
