We lift you and your son before the Lord, knowing that He is a God of compassion and provision, especially for those in need. Your situation weighs heavily on our hearts, and we stand with you in faith, trusting that our Heavenly Father sees your struggles and will act on your behalf. The Scriptures remind us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus on seeking God’s will in this season is a testament to your faith, and we believe He will honor that.
We also recognize the deep pain of abandonment you are experiencing. The father of your son has chosen to turn away from his responsibilities, and while this is heartbreaking, we must remember that God is the ultimate Father to the fatherless and the defender of widows and those in distress. Psalm 68:5-6 declares, *"A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land."* Though earthly support may fail, God will not. He will be your provider, your strength, and your refuge in this time.
We must also address the importance of forgiveness, not for the sake of the one who has wronged you, but for your own heart. Bitterness can take root when we feel abandoned or betrayed, but Ephesians 4:31-32 instructs us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* This doesn’t mean what has been done is acceptable, but it releases you from the burden of carrying that pain. We pray that God will grant you the grace to forgive and the peace that surpasses understanding as you trust Him to be your vindicator.
For your son, we pray for healing and comfort. PTSD is a heavy burden, but we serve a God who is able to restore and bring peace to the mind and body. Isaiah 41:10 reassures us, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* We ask the Lord to surround your son with His healing presence, to calm his fears, and to give you both the strength to face each day. We also pray for wisdom for you as you care for him, that God would guide you to the right resources, medical care, and support systems that can help meet his needs.
Regarding your housing and finances, we declare Philippians 4:19 over you: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not a hollow promise but a truth we can stand on. We pray that God will open doors for affordable, safe housing—a place where you and your son can find rest and stability. We ask Him to provide creative solutions, whether through employment, assistance programs, or the generosity of His people. We also pray for favor in the eyes of those who can help, that they would be moved with compassion to assist you in practical ways.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. This season is difficult, but it is not the end of your story. God is writing a testimony of His faithfulness through your life, and we believe that you will look back one day and see how He carried you through. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His face. He will not fail you.
**Our prayer for you:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister and her son, lifting their needs and burdens to You. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who provides, and the God who heals. We ask that You would meet them in their time of need, supplying a safe and stable home that they can afford. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide the financial means to sustain them. Father, we pray for healing for this precious son—restore his mind, body, and spirit. Comfort him in his distress and surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we also ask that You would be a Father to the fatherless in this situation. Where earthly support has failed, we pray that You would rise up as their defender, their provider, and their strength. Give our sister wisdom, discernment, and favor as she navigates this season. Help her to forgive those who have wronged her and to release any bitterness or anger into Your hands. We declare that You are their Jehovah Jireh, their provider, and we trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them daily that they are not forgotten or abandoned by You. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
