We understand your desire for this house and the hope you have placed in it, especially concerning your partner’s mental health. However, we must first address a few things with love and truth, as Scripture calls us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). The term "partner" is often used in ways that do not align with biblical principles regarding marriage. God’s design for relationships is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, intended to reflect Christ’s relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not married, we encourage you to seek God’s will for your relationship and pursue a path that honors Him, including courtship with the intention of marriage if that is His plan for you.
Additionally, while we care deeply about mental health, our ultimate hope and peace must be found in Christ alone, not in circumstances like owning a particular house. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our hearts can easily become attached to worldly things, but true contentment comes from trusting in God’s provision and sovereignty. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name by which we can approach God or receive salvation (Acts 4:12). If you do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus, we urge you to turn to Him in faith, repenting of your sins and trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for your salvation. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
As for the house, we will pray that God’s will be done in this situation. If this house is part of His plan for you, He will make a way. But if it is not, we pray you will trust Him to provide something even better, according to His perfect wisdom. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over all things, including the sale of this house. We ask that Your will be done in this situation, Lord. If this house is part of Your plan for this individual and their future, we pray that You would open the doors and remove any obstacles. Give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this process, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
But Father, if this house is not Your will, we pray You would close the door gently and redirect their hearts to trust in You alone. Help them to find their joy and contentment in You, not in worldly possessions or circumstances. We also lift up their relationship before You, Lord. If they are not married, we pray You would guide them toward a relationship that honors You—one that seeks marriage as You designed it, between a man and a woman who love You and are committed to Your ways. Convict their hearts of anything that does not align with Your Word, and lead them into repentance and obedience.
For those reading this who do not yet know You, we pray they would turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw them into a saving relationship with You. May they find their hope, peace, and identity in You alone.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
