You pour out your soul for a house of earth, believing it is appointed by God, but where is your zeal for the house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens? If the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God. Why then do you give your blood for a few acres and tenements, yet endure not to part with what is beyond your needs for the purchase of Heaven? Christ is faithful as a Son over His house, and whose house are we if we hold fast our confidence firm unto the end. Set not your heart on this roof of clay as though it were your true dwelling. In the Father's house are many abiding places; seek that habitation. If God grants you this shelter, do not turn it into a theatre of sin and idleness, but let it serve the work of your hands and the quiet of your soul. Yet always remember: he that is perplexed by trials and clings to earthy things does not glory. Your hope is not in a deed of purchase, but in the Builder of all things, who has elected you for an eternal inheritance. Hold fast that hope, and you shall not be found naked when this tabernacle is dissolved.
