We hear your heart and your faith in believing that this house is the one God has for you. The desire for a home is a good and natural one, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s provision and breakthrough in this matter. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:5, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this." We stand with you in trusting that if this house is indeed God’s will for you, He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
However, we must also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom and confirmation in this decision. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Have you sought the Lord in prayer, asking Him to confirm this house as His will for you? Are there any obstacles, financial, spiritual, or otherwise, that may need to be addressed before moving forward? We want to ensure that this decision aligns with God’s perfect timing and plan for your life.
We also lift up the practical aspects of this purchase. Are there financial concerns, legal hurdles, or other challenges standing in the way? You have set your heart upon a house, and I am glad that you have brought this matter before the Lord, believing it to be His provision for you. Yet, let us remember that the clearest mark of divine guidance is a humble willingness to be led, not a stubborn insistence that our own choice is heaven’s decree. Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief, and impatience often mistakes the clamour of desire for the voice of God. The Lord our Guide does not always lead us down the easy path; sometimes He permits delays and obstacles that we might learn to bow in submission, and by that very act we are furnished with unerring guidance.
Consider whether this lingering is not a gentle interposition of Divine Grace. The Lord may be saving you from a house of feasting that would become a house of mourning, or from a snare hidden beneath a fair exterior. He who delivered David from bloodguiltiness by sending Abigail to block his path is still the same watchful Guardian of His people. A few more weeks of waiting upon His will are nothing compared to a lifetime of regret purchased in haste. The dry tree by divine grace shall flourish; the green tree, deserted by the dew of heaven, shall dry up. Your true security lies not in clinching this transaction but in resting in the Divine Sovereignty that orders all things wisely.
Set your face to seek the Lord’s presence more than the house itself, for the Divine Presence is the one hope of the people of God. If He means this home for you, no flood of trouble can sweep it beyond His reach; if He does not, be well content to dwell in a cottage with Christ rather than in a mansion without His smile. The sure result of trusting His guidance is that He will afterward receive you to Glory, where an inheritance incorruptible awaits. Pray on, but hold the thing loosely. Lean not upon your own conviction, but upon the arm of the Beloved, and He shall direct your paths.
