We hear your concern about the reduction in work hours and the uncertainty it brings. In times like these, it is easy to feel anxious or overwhelmed, but we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We are called to bring our worries to the Lord, trusting that He will provide peace that transcends our circumstances.
It is important to remember that God is our ultimate provider, as stated in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Let us seek His kingdom first, trusting that He knows our needs and will provide in His perfect timing and way.
We also encourage you to reflect on whether this change might be an opportunity for growth or redirection. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Sometimes, what feels like a setback is God’s way of leading us toward something greater. Let us pray that He gives you clarity and wisdom to understand His purpose in this situation.
If this reduction in hours is causing financial strain, we encourage you to seek wise counsel and explore ways to steward your resources faithfully. Proverbs 21:5 says, "The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty." Trust that God will guide you as you seek to honor Him with your finances.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that seek Your peace and understanding. We lift up this situation to You, asking that You calm any anxiety and replace it with Your perfect peace. Lord, we trust in Your provision and ask that You guide this individual through this time of uncertainty. Give them wisdom to see Your hand at work and the strength to trust in Your plan. Help them to seek You first in all things and to lean not on their own understanding. Provide for their needs, Lord, and open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you would like to know more about what it means to follow Christ, we are here to help guide you in that journey.
