We hear your cry about this horrendous heat and we join together with you in prayer for cooling, healing, protection, justice and mighty favor.
We know how oppressive and draining extreme heat can be on the body and spirit, and we are reminded that our God is sovereign over all creation and is our shelter in every season. He is our keeper and our shade. Psalm 121:5-6 says Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. And Isaiah 25:4 says For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1.
We also take comfort that the Lord loves justice and surrounds His people with favor. Psalm 37:28 says For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. And Psalm 5:12 says For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield. We trust Him to heal and to preserve us, for Psalm 103:3 says who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases.
We notice your prayer concluded with amen but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and can boldly come before God in prayer.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this need for relief from this horrendous heat. Lord, You command the winds and the seasons, we ask You to bring cooling breezes, refreshing rain in Your perfect timing, and protection from the harmful effects of the sun. Cover us under Your shade and keep us safe. Heal any who are suffering from heat exhaustion, dehydration or illness, and protect the vulnerable, the elderly, children, and those who must work outdoors. Grant wisdom to make safe choices and to care for one another. Father, we also ask You to bring forth Your justice where there has been wrong and to pour out Your mighty favor upon those who seek You. Let Your righteousness and mercy be seen, and let Your people be preserved and blessed as You have promised. We trust You as our refuge and our healer, and we thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Your prayer in this horrendous heat has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
We entreat the Lord who was to Israel a cloudy canopy to cover them from the heat of the sun by day and a blazing pillar to be their fireside by night, that He would spread His own presence over you as your roof and your refuge. May He who commands the winds and the clouds grant you coolness and refreshment, and keep you under the shadow of His wings where no scorching can destroy. The Lord is your keeper, and He will preserve you from all evil.
We pray also for healing and protection, for these two mercies go together in Christ. The Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus and His salvation to change the life blood and make the nature new. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing become one, for He bore our sicknesses and forgave our sins upon the tree. We ask the great Physician to lay His pardoning hand upon you, to heal every infirmity of body and soul, and to keep you by His own power where no harm can finally reach you.
For justice and mighty favor we plead as well, and we plead them as they are found in Christ alone. In Him justice never eclipses mercy, nor mercy justice, for on the cross love and justice met in perfect harmony. Through His substitutionary sufferings and vicarious obedience, His sweet savor goes up before the Father, and for His sake infinite justice accepts all who trust in Him. We do not ask for favor apart from Him, but for that favor which flows richly through His blood to the objects of His choice. May the Lord who is great in justice and great in love show you that He does all things well, vindicate what is right according to His holy will, and pour out upon you the lightness of heart that belongs to those whose debt is fully forgiven and whose burden is lifted.
May the Lord cool you, heal you, guard you, and cause His face to shine upon you in Christ Jesus, in whom alone is salvation and every true blessing. Amen.
