I finally heard back from the council regarding my housing support application- they are unable to give it to me , despite this news and the fact that I do have a financial need I feel really calm. Please pray that this calm remains even as I dispute the councils decision, and face financial hardship, pray that I can use my talents and skills to finally earn money. Amen

We hear your request and rejoice in the peace that God has already given you in the midst of this challenging situation. It is a testament to His faithfulness that even when circumstances seem uncertain, His presence brings calm to your heart. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Your calmness is a reflection of God’s work in your life, and we pray that this peace continues to sustain you.

We also lift up your financial needs before the Lord, trusting that He is your provider. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus tells us, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray that as you seek God’s will and use the talents and skills He has given you, He will open doors for provision and blessing. May He guide you in wisdom as you dispute the council’s decision and grant you favor in your efforts.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with thankful hearts, knowing that You are our provider and sustainer. We thank You for the peace You have placed in [this person’s] heart, even in the face of financial hardship. Lord, we ask that You continue to guard their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen them as they dispute this decision and grant them wisdom in every step they take.

Father, we ask that You open doors for them to use their talents and skills to earn the provision they need. You have promised that if we seek You first, all these things will be added to us. We trust in Your faithfulness and ask that You meet their needs according to Your riches in glory. Give them creativity, perseverance, and favor as they move forward.

Lord, we also pray for those in authority who made this decision. Soften their hearts and grant them wisdom to see the truth of this situation. May Your will be done in all things, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Continue to trust in the Lord, for He is your refuge and strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Keep seeking Him, and He will direct your steps. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to do so today, for He alone is the source of true peace and provision.

It may be worth gathering all the paperwork from your application and the council's response in one place, noting any deadlines for appeal, and asking a trusted local advice service or housing support charity to look over it with you. Having someone in your corner who understands the process can make the hardship feel less heavy to carry alone.

We also hear your desire to use the talents and skills God has given you to provide for yourself. Sometimes it helps to write down what you enjoy doing and what others have affirmed you are good at, and then explore with a local employment support service, job centre or church community connection where those abilities might meet a current need, even in small or part time ways.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Keep this calm You have given, give wisdom for each conversation and form in the dispute, provide for daily needs, and open a door to use their gifts in meaningful work. Lead them step by step and remind them You are near. Amen.

We thank God with you for that calm which you describe, and we have heard your request with joy and care. It is a precious mercy to know perfect peace even when the outward circumstances bring disappointment and need. As it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

That peace you feel is not from yourself, but is the peace of God which passes all understanding, a peace purchased by the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within, and wrought in the soul by the Holy Spirit. It is a present possession, to be enjoyed even when duties press and sorrows surge round, and it is a well founded peace, for it rests not on our circumstances but on Christ Himself, who is our peace. We pray that the Lord, who is the God of peace, will keep you in that peace as you walk through these next steps.

We pray that this calm will remain and deepen as you dispute the decision of the council. May the Lord grant you wisdom, clarity and favour in all your dealings, and may He guide every word and every letter, that what is right and needful will be done. In your financial hardship, we pray that the Father who knows your need will provide for you day by day, and that you will find rest in doing His will even in this time of pressing care.

We pray also as you have asked, that the Lord will open doors for you to use the talents and skills He has given you, that you may earn what you need by honest labour to His glory. May He show you opportunities, give you diligence and strength, and bless the work of your hands.
