Thank you for letting us pray with you about your homeschool evaluation and this coming year of learning. Your desire to do this for the good of your child and as unto the Lord is beautiful, and it is right to bring this waiting period before Him and trust Him with the outcome.

The waiting itself can be stressful, especially when you have been faithful to do what was required and are now waiting for a response. Scripture speaks to this very place. It tells us that the Scriptures were given so that through patience and comfort we might have hope. God Himself is described as the God of patience and comfort, the One who is long suffering and faithful to bring His purposes to pass in His time. When we have Him, hope is not cut off but enlarged, because our hope rests in Him and not in an email or a process.

You have done what was needed in sending the evaluation, and now there is a call to patience. The letter to the Hebrews says we have need of patience, that after we have done the will of God we might obtain the promise, and that the saints of old through faith and patience inherited what God had promised. Think of how patiently God worked with Abraham before the promised son was born, or how James reminds us that a farmer waits with patience for the precious fruit of the earth until the early and latter rains have come. In the same way, the trying of our faith works patience in us, and when we let patience have its perfect work it brings us to maturity and completeness, teaching us to wait upon the Lord and trust His timing rather than our own.

So we can pray that you will know that patience and comfort from the Word right now. May the Lord quiet your heart while you wait, remind you that He is in control, and guard you from anxiety. We ask Him to give you peace that goes beyond the confirmation you are waiting for, and to help you rest in His care for your family.

We join you in praying that the evaluation will be received and accepted without hindrance, as it has been in past years, and we ask the Lord to bless this year and the years ahead of learning. May He give you wisdom, strength and joy as you teach, and may your home be filled with His grace as you seek to honor Him in this work. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting His mercy and His perfect timing.
