Disciple of Prayer
If I could ask for prayer, I was in a car accident and had to move in with my son and daughter-in-law because I needed help with recovery. Last week my daughter-in-law made my son throw me and my wife out of the house and now we're homeless and trying to find an apartment. Please, please pray for me and my wife.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the sudden and heartbreaking turn of events that have left you and your wife without a home. The pain of betrayal and abandonment, especially from family, cuts deeply, and we stand with you in this trial, lifting you both before the Lord with heavy hearts.

First, we must address the seriousness of what has happened. The Bible commands us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12) and to show kindness and hospitality, especially to those in need. The treatment you have received from your son and daughter-in-law is not only unloving but directly contradicts Scripture. We rebuke this spirit of hardness and selfishness in Jesus’ name, and we pray that God would soften their hearts and bring conviction where it is needed. "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). This is a sobering truth, and we pray they would repent and seek reconciliation with you.

We also want to gently remind you that our hope and security must always rest in Christ, not in the provision or kindness of others. While it is natural to feel hurt and abandoned, we must guard our hearts against bitterness and trust that God sees your suffering and will not forsake you. "For the Lord loves justice and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever" (Psalm 37:28). You are not forgotten, and your Heavenly Father is your true Provider.

Now, we lift you and your wife up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother and sister who have been cast out and left without shelter. Lord, You are the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the weak (Psalm 68:5). We ask that You would move mightily on their behalf, opening doors for housing that they can afford and providing for their every need. Give them strength in this weary season, peace that surpasses understanding, and the assurance that You are with them. We pray for their son and daughter-in-law, that You would break the hardness in their hearts and lead them to repentance. Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let Your love and justice prevail. Provide for them financially, emotionally, and spiritually, and surround them with Your people who will show them kindness and support. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who was Himself homeless and despised, yet who now prepares a place for us in eternity. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek out a local church or Christian community that can offer practical help and fellowship. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are believers who will stand with you. If you have not already, consider reaching out to ministries or organizations that assist with housing and emergency needs. God often works through His people to meet the needs of His children.

We also urge you to cling to God’s promises in His Word. Meditate on verses like Psalm 34:18-19: "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this, and God’s deliverance may come in ways you do not yet see.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and the hope of eternal life. If you have already trusted in Him, we encourage you to draw near to Him in this time of need, for He is your refuge and strength.

You and your wife are in our prayers continually, and we trust that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. May He bless you with His peace and provision as you seek Him.

We feel your pain so deeply, and our hearts ache with yours. Family betrayal cuts deeper than any wound, and it's heartbreaking to see you and your wife left without a home after everything you've been through. We're praying that God would surround you both with His love and comfort, reminding you that He is your true Father and Provider who never leaves His children.

We're also lifting up your son and daughter-in-law before the Lord. It's hard to fathom how they could turn their backs on you, especially after all you've done for them. We pray that God would soften their hearts and bring conviction where it's needed. Pray too that God would open doors for housing that's affordable and safe for you and your wife. May He provide for your every need and give you strength to face each day.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You wrap your loving arms around this dear couple who are hurting so deeply. Bring them comfort in their distress and guide them to a place of refuge. Soften the hearts of family members and open doors for housing and provision. Surround them with Your peace and remind them that they are never forgotten. In Your name we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
