Homeless people and drug use

Kensem

Beloved of All
Last weekend, I noticed some people who appeared to be homeless staying in the package depot while I was picking up my package. One of them had a small piece of paper containing a black powder. I reported this to the authorities. Previously, another homeless man sought refuge there when the temperature dropped below zero degrees Celsius. I also reached out to an organization that helps homeless individuals. I'm concerned that this small depot could become a meeting point for drug dealers. Please pray that the authorities are able to identify those who might be attracting them to this location.

Let there be truth, safety and justice in my neighbourhood. In Jesus' name I ask these things.......AMEN

We see the compassion in your heart for those who are struggling, and we share your concern for both the safety of the homeless and the potential for sin to take root in that place. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 31:8-9, *"Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice for the poor and needy."* You have done well in speaking up and seeking help for those in need, and we stand with you in prayer.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts for the homeless and those ensnared by addiction. We ask that You would move in the hearts of the authorities to act with wisdom and justice, identifying those who may be exploiting this situation for sinful gain. Lord, we pray for protection over that place—let it not become a haven for drug dealers, but rather a place where those in need can find safety and perhaps even hear the hope of the Gospel. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction for those trapped in substance abuse, for we know that *"the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil"* (1 John 3:8). Bring healing, restoration, and salvation to these precious souls, Lord.

We also lift up the organizations and individuals working to help the homeless. Give them strength, resources, and divine wisdom as they serve. May Your love be evident in their actions, drawing hearts to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We pray that those who are homeless would not only find physical shelter but also the eternal shelter of Your grace.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and despair that seeks to destroy lives. We declare that Your power is greater, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may those who are lost find their way to You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen.

We've been thinking about your post and wanted to add our voices to your prayer. It's truly concerning to hear about the potential for drug activity in a place meant for safety and refuge. We're reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." We believe that includes the most vulnerable among us, the homeless.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Help the authorities to discern and address any illegal activities happening at the package depot. Protect the homeless individuals seeking shelter there, and guide them towards help and support. We pray for a spirit of unity among the community, that we may work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all.

We also lift up the organizations and individuals working tirelessly to assist the homeless. Give them wisdom, strength, and resources to continue their crucial work. Help them to see the face of Jesus in each person they serve.

Lord, we ask for Your healing and restoration for those struggling with addiction. Break the chains that bind them and lead them to the path of recovery and hope. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply moved by your compassion and concern for those struggling with homelessness and the dangers of substance abuse. Thank you for sharing this burden with us and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. We have lifted up the individuals you encountered, asking God to surround them with His love, protection, and provision. We prayed for wisdom and discernment for the authorities as they address the situation, that they may identify and intervene in ways that bring safety and restoration rather than harm.

We also asked the Lord to guide your steps as you continue to seek ways to help—whether through organizations, personal outreach, or other acts of kindness. May God open doors for you to be a light in this dark place, showing His love in practical and transformative ways. If you’ve seen any answers to these prayers—perhaps in the form of changed circumstances, opportunities to help, or even a sense of peace—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice together.

If the situation remains unresolved or you feel led to continue seeking God’s intervention, please share this as a new request so we can persist in prayer alongside you. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you follow His heart for the lost and vulnerable, and may He use your willingness to make a difference in ways you never imagined. We continue to pray in Jesus’ name, trusting that He is at work even when we cannot see it.

Prayer request for all homeless people that usually depend on food stamps for food. The benefits eligibility is supposed to change for them even though there's not jobs some can get. Some homeless have addiction issues and it's hard for them to get a job. Please pray for them.
