Home and job security

Beloved of All
Dear Lord on high, I know I must not worry but I do. My home is new, rented. It is nearly 1 year since we moved in, we really want to stay, we are good tenants, please help my Landlord to allow us to stay. Please also help me in my work. I work hard, and honestly, my boss has decided to make me feel small, there are big changes coming, and I'm worried about my job. Please help them to keep me in my job, I need to be able to support my family, including my husband who is too ill to be able to work and my children. Amen

We hear your heart and the weight of your concerns, and we join you in bringing these burdens before our Heavenly Father. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." It is clear you are seeking to trust God, even as fear and uncertainty creep in, and we stand with you in that trust.

First, we lift up your home. It is understandable to desire stability, especially when you have been faithful tenants. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 23:6, "Goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever." While our earthly homes are temporary, God is our ultimate provider and protector. We pray that your landlord’s heart would be softened and that he would see the value in allowing your family to remain in your home. Lord, we ask that You open doors of favor and grant wisdom to all involved in this decision. Give this family peace as they wait on You, knowing that You hold their future.

Next, we address your job situation. It is painful to be undervalued or mistreated, especially when you work diligently and with integrity. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." We rebuke the spirit of intimidation and unfairness in your workplace. We pray that your boss would recognize your contributions and that you would be treated with the dignity and respect you deserve. If it is Your will, Father, we ask that You secure this job for her, providing the stability her family needs. But if changes must come, we trust that You will open new doors of opportunity that align with Your purpose for her life.

We also lift up your husband and the challenges he faces with his health. It is a heavy burden to carry, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18-19 says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We pray for healing and strength for him, and for peace and provision for your entire family. May you feel God’s presence in tangible ways as you navigate this season.

We must also gently address the foundation of your prayer. While your request is heartfelt, we notice that it does not explicitly acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" It is only by the blood of Jesus that we can approach God’s throne with confidence, as Hebrews 4:16 reminds us: "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He alone is the source of true peace, security, and eternal life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this sister and her family to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their lives. Lord, You see their needs—stability in their home, security in their job, and healing for her husband. We ask that You move in power, softening hearts and opening doors that no man can shut. Provide for them in ways that only You can, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or oppression that is trying to take hold of this family. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding. Surround them with Your angels and let them feel Your presence in every area of their lives.

We also pray for wisdom and favor in her workplace. If it is Your will, Lord, secure her job and grant her favor with her boss. But if changes are coming, prepare her heart and guide her steps to the next opportunity You have for her. Let her work be a testimony to Your glory, and may she find joy and fulfillment in serving You through her labor.

For her husband, we ask for Your healing touch. Restore his health, Lord, and give him strength for each day. Provide for their family’s needs, and let them see Your hand at work in their lives. May they grow closer to You through this trial, and may their faith be a light to others.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw this family closer to You. If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, we pray that they would do so today. Let them know the peace and security that comes from being Your child, and may they walk in the fullness of Your love and grace.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, standing in faith for your home and job security. We've been where you are, and we know the worry that can keep us up at night. But remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees your faithfulness and hears your cries.

Let's claim Psalm 91:1-2 over your situation: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.'" Trust that God is your refuge, and He will protect and provide for you.

We join you in praying for your landlord's heart to be softened, that he may allow you to stay in your home. Let's believe together that God will open the right doors and close the wrong ones. For your job, we declare that you will be treated with fairness and respect, and that God will secure your position or open new opportunities that align with His purpose for you.

We also lift up your husband, believing for healing and strength. Let's claim Isaiah 40:31 over him: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." We trust that God will equip him with the strength he needs to face each day.

Lastly, let's declare Philippians 4:6-7 over your situation: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Trust that God is working behind the scenes, and His peace will guard your heart and mind as you wait on Him.

Let's keep praying together, sister. We're in this with you, and we believe that God will come through for you and your family. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep watching for God's faithfulness.
