Beloved of All
"We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts' through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:14-20."

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the powerful truth you’ve shared from Ephesians 3:14-20. What a magnificent passage, revealing the depth of God’s love and the limitless power available to us through His Spirit! We join you in bowing our knees to the Father, acknowledging that every good gift flows from Him, and that true strength is found not in ourselves, but in the indwelling Christ.

Father, we ask You to strengthen us with power through Your Holy Spirit in our inner beings, just as this passage declares. May Christ dwell richly in our hearts through faith, anchoring us in His love so deeply that we cannot help but overflow with His presence. Lord, we long to comprehend, with all the saints, the width, length, depth, and height of Your love, a love that surpasses human understanding. Fill us to the fullness of God, that we may walk in the abundance of Your grace and reflect Your glory to a world in desperate need of You.

We recognize that this kind of spiritual fullness is not something we can manufacture on our own. It is only by Your grace, through the finished work of Jesus Christ, that we have access to such power. Without Christ, we are powerless, but in Him, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). If anyone reading this has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge them to do so now. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Today is the day of salvation, turn to Him, repent of your sins, and receive the gift of eternal life.

Lord, we also pray for those who may be struggling with doubt, weariness, or spiritual dryness. Revive their hearts, O God! Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). May they experience the reality of Your love in tangible ways, through Your Word, through fellowship with other believers, and through the quiet assurance of Your Spirit. Remind them that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would seek to convince us that we are weak, unworthy, or abandoned. The truth is, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), and greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Let us walk in that truth, standing firm in the faith, and proclaiming Your goodness to all who will hear.

Finally, Father, we give You all the glory, honor, and praise. May Your name be exalted in our lives, in our families, and in Your Church. To You be the dominion forever and ever. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

How good it is to read your words echoing Paul’s prayer, a prayer that is itself a gift, inviting us to stop striving and simply receive. There’s something deeply grounding about bowing our knees before the Father, isn’t there? It’s a posture that says we trust Him, not our own grip, to hold us steady.

As we’ve sat with your request, one thing seems clear: you are already reaching toward the very thing God wants to give, a settled strength in the inner person that can’t be shaken by outer storms. That strengthening doesn’t come from mustering more willpower; it comes as Christ makes His home in us through faith, and as we let ourselves be rooted and grounded in a love that out-measures every fear, every inadequacy, every lie we’ve internalized. When Paul prays that we’d “know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge,” he isn’t talking about an academic understanding but a firsthand, experiential knowing that fills us with God’s own fullness.

Perhaps a simple step this week could be to take a few quiet moments each morning with this very passage. Read it slowly, even aloud, personalizing it for your own heart. Ask the Spirit to make the reality of Christ’s indwelling love more tangible in the ordinary moments of your day. You don’t have to feel it all at once; He is patient with us.

We pray with you:
Father, strengthen our friend with power through Your Spirit in the inner being. Cause Christ to dwell so deeply in their heart that every root of fear is displaced by the boundless love You have for them. Give them a fresh grasp of the dimensions of that love, wide enough for every circumstance, long enough for every season, high enough to lift them, and deep enough to hold them steady. Fill them to all the fullness of God, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The very fact that your heart yearns to bow the knee and plead such a prayer is proof that the Spirit of God is already at work within you. Nature does not love God nor His Law, but when the soul cries out for strength in the inner man, for Christ to dwell in the heart, and for the full knowledge of a love that surpasses understanding, it is the Holy Spirit who has quickened that desire. He who gave you the prayer will surely grant the answer according to the riches of His glory.

Mark well the divine order in this Scripture. Do not begin at the top of the ladder, but take the steps as the Lord has set them. First, you must be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. The inner man is where no human eye can see, where the struggle lies, and where the Spirit must work. Cry to Him for this strength, and when you feel your weakness, press on in prayer till you can pray, using what little grace you have until the Spirit comes in fuller power. The Master knew what it was to be strengthened by heaven in His hour of need, and He will strengthen you.

Then, as the Spirit fortifies the hidden man of the heart, Christ shall dwell there by faith. This is the living, abiding presence of the Lord Jesus, not a passing visitor, but an indwelling King. Let faith open every door, every chamber, every dark corner, that He may fill all. When Christ dwells in your heart, the center of your being is occupied by love, and from that settled residence you shall begin to know His love. It is a love that passes knowledge, for the understanding cannot compass it, but the heart apprehends it. You shall be rooted and grounded in it, as a tree that drinks from the stream of God’s Word and cannot be moved.

And then, oh, the heights of this ladder, you shall be filled with all the fullness of God. In Christ dwells all fullness; there is no need of your spirit but is met in Him. He is Prophet to instruct, Priest to atone, King to reign. The fullness of Deity, the fullness of perfect Manhood, the fullness of pardoning grace and sanctifying power, all this is in Jesus, and of His fullness we receive, and grace for grace. Do not stand back as if these were too great for you; He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think. Trust Him for it. The love of Christ which has espoused you to Himself in eternal wedlock will bring you home, and even now He gives His Spirit as the earnest.

Let your meditation be upon the things of Christ, for the Holy Spirit’s great office is to take of what is Christ’s and show it unto you. He glorifies Christ, not Himself. Go often to the written Word, and as you read, look for the light of the Spirit to make it shine like a star. Commune with Christ, and the Law of God shall be written on your heart by this sweet intimacy. Keep your conversation ordered after His pattern, and the Spirit will not withdraw. This is the way of peace, the way of being filled, to be ever receiving, ever looking unto Jesus, who is our peace with God. Amen, and may it be so to you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

In your prayer you stretch forth the words of the blessed Apostle, seeking to be strengthened with might through the Spirit, that Christ may dwell in your hearts, and that you may comprehend the love of Christ and be filled with all the fullness of God. This is a noble desire, but let us examine it carefully, lest we think the Spirit’s power works apart from our own striving. You ask for the Spirit’s strength, yet know that the Spirit especially points us to Christ, and Christ Himself is known through faith, and faith without good works is dead. How then shall Christ dwell in your heart? Not by idle wishing, but by rooting out every passion that makes war against the soul. For as I have said before, those passions are like serpents and worms that devour us inwardly, and unless they are killed, Christ cannot abide there. They exact of us a service more cruel than any master, and they choke the word sown within.

You long to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge. This very knowledge comes through faith, and faith is kindled by a life conformed to His death. Paul desired to know Christ and the power of His resurrection through the fellowship of His sufferings. Can we comprehend the width and length and depth and height of that love while we are slaves to vainglory, to love of riches, or to any other lust? The love of the Spirit, the love of Christ, and the love of the Father are one, but we must receive it with full assurance, drinking the precious Blood and hearing the divine Scriptures with almsgiving. Only then are the worms within us slain, and the soul made alive.

You ask to be filled with all the fullness of God. This fullness means being filled with every virtue of which God is full, or knowing how God is worshipped in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Yet how shall that fullness dwell in a heart crowded with worldly affections? The Spirit appeared in fire because he who is to stand in such an array must be more fervent than fire. If our longing for Christ is feeble, it is because our strength is consumed on lesser loves. Pray, then, not only with words but with a life that flees from the evil slavery of sin and follows after true freedom, accounting virtue alone blessed. Strive together with all the saints, by faith and a pure conscience, that you may be strengthened in the inner man. For He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, but according to the power that works in us, that is, the power that is active when we yield ourselves to Him in deed and in truth. So live the present life in security and self-government, and you shall advance to behold the Sun of Righteousness and attain the good things promised. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
