🧎🏽‍♂️"We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts' through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:14-20."

We rejoice in your heartfelt cry to the Father, rooted in the powerful words of Ephesians 3:14-20. This passage is a profound declaration of our dependence on God’s strength, the indwelling of Christ, and the boundless love that surpasses all understanding. We stand with you in this prayer, lifting our voices together to the One who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.

Father, we bow our knees before You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We ask that You would grant us, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in our inner being. Lord, we long for Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith, that we may be rooted and grounded in love. Help us to comprehend with all the saints what is the width, length, depth, and height of Your love, love that surpasses knowledge. Fill us with all the fullness of God, that we may walk in the power of Your Spirit and reflect Your glory to the world.

We acknowledge, Lord, that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of salvation through faith in Your Son, who died for our sins and rose again, conquering death and offering us eternal life. If anyone reading this has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray they would turn to Him now, confessing their sins and trusting in Him as their Lord and Savior. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Father, we also lift up those who may be struggling with sin, particularly in areas of relationships that do not align with Your Word. We rebuke any spirit of fornication, adultery, or immorality that seeks to ensnare Your children. Your Word is clear: "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). We pray for those who are in relationships outside of marriage, that they would repent and seek Your forgiveness. For those who are courting, we ask that You would guide them toward godly marriages that honor You, where both individuals are believers committed to following Christ together.

For those who may be entangled in same-sex relationships or attractions, we lovingly remind them that Your Word calls such relationships sinful and immoral (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). We do not say this to condemn, but to call to repentance, for You desire all to come to the knowledge of the truth. We pray for healing, restoration, and deliverance in these areas, that they may walk in the freedom and purity You intend for Your children.

Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen those who are feeling weak or overwhelmed. Life’s trials can often leave us feeling powerless, but Your Word reminds us that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in the power and might that comes from You alone. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to trust in Your promises, knowing that You are working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).

We declare together that You, O Lord, are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

May you be encouraged today, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). Walk in that power, beloved, and let the love of Christ compel you to live a life that honors Him in all things. If you are struggling with sin, do not despair, confess it, turn from it, and receive God’s forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). He is faithful and just to forgive and to restore. Keep pressing into Him, for He is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

What a gift to pray Scripture back to God, and this prayer in Ephesians is one of the richest we could ask for each other. We’re joining you in it, asking that the Spirit would do something deep and steady in the inner person, far beneath what we can manage on our own.

When Paul prays that we’d be “rooted and grounded in love,” we think of a tree sending roots down into something solid. That kind of anchoring doesn’t happen in a moment. It grows as we actually let the love of Christ meet us in the places where we still feel unworthy, forgotten, or unsure, including the hidden corners where old messages tell us we’re not quite good enough. Part of being strengthened in the inner man is letting that love reshape not just what we believe, but what we feel to be true about ourselves.

If you wanted to take one small step with this, you might try turning Ephesians 3:17, 19 into a simple breath prayer for the week: inhale with “rooted and grounded in love,” exhale with “to know the love of Christ.” Let it sink past your thinking and into your heart a little more each time.

Father, for this dear prayer partner and for each of us reaching for more of You, we ask exactly what You love to give: strength through Your Spirit in our innermost being, Christ truly at home in our hearts, and a grasp of Your love that goes beyond words. Root us so deeply that nothing can uproot us, and fill us with all Your fullness, not because we’ve earned it, but because You are that generous. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your longing for the inward writing of God's covenant promise is most evident in this prayer breathed from Ephesians. That Law written upon the heart is the Spirit's own work, for nature does not love God, and thus it never loves His Law. But if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are in that covenant, and the Spirit will cause you to delight in it after the inward man. The seal of this covenant is faith in Christ, the personal seal upon the heart and conscience. When you cry out for strength in the inner man, you are asking precisely for what the Holy Spirit delights to give, for it is His chief office to take of the things of Christ and show them to you, to fill your poor heart like a mirror to reflect His grace.

Do not be dismayed that your desires outrun your words, or that your spirit groans within a mind that wanders and a tongue that chatters like a crane. What God reads in the heart and approves of in the heart must succeed. The very ache for Christ to dwell there, the hunger for the love that surpasses knowledge, this is no sign of His absence but of His drawing near. When the heart gets grounded in love, when it feels the love of Christ shed abroad in it by the Holy Spirit, it says, "To where could I sail? With what could you tempt me?" The love of the Lord Jesus is the most filling thing in existence. You ask to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, and in that very asking you are beginning to comprehend its width and length and depth and height.

Consider how He has loved you. With deepest gratitude must we ask, "How could You love me, my Lord, in whom there was nothing fair?" Yet He has joined you to Himself, and His love has made it so. This love was His from of old, is His today, and will be His forever. It is not a love that merely spares from death, though it has done that a thousand times over for your soul; it is a peculiar, everlasting love that set itself upon you before the world was made. When this love is felt, it creates love in return, a reflection of His own. He who is with Christ from morning to noon, and from noon to dewy eve, sprinkling his conscience afresh with pardoning blood as he lays down to rest, is the one who will find that Law written in his heart and Christ a constant, abiding guest.

Do not begin at the end, but take things according to God's order. Christ must dwell in your heart through faith before you are filled with all the fullness of God. And when He dwells there, He does not leave it an unfurnished house; He brings with Him such furniture, such provision, that your entire nature is equipped. There is a fullness in Him of justifying righteousness, of comfort in affliction, of guidance in prosperity, a fullness to wash out the crimson stain and to fill the aching heart with peace. It pleased the Father that in Him, in His very person, should all fullness dwell. Look not to your own emptiness, but to His infinite supply. The power that works in us is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or even think, and to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages.
