Father, we look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than the noise and pollution of the world, 1 Jn 2:15-16. Thank You for working in my wife, my life, and for all that need Your guidance, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. We agree with this husband, for his wife, children, family, friends, prayer and minister partners and and himself -- speak to us by any and every ordinary and extraordinary means: Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times: Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, Paul, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. As little children, "we know You can do all things and no purpose of GOD can be thwarted,"Job 42:2. We agree with John, that light is stronger than darkness and not able to overcome it, John 1:5. We agree that "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27.

Keep her, him, us and our churches, families, friends, pastors and government leaders from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. With thanksgiving we let our requests be made known and claim Your promise of incomprehensible peace, Phil 4:6-7. We thank You in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name, The Amen, and Faithful Witness, Rev 3:14, in Jesus ALL Your promises are Yes, and therefore we say, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20... Thank You and you all in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in this earnest desire to hear the Holy Spirit speak clearly to you, to your wife, to your families, churches, leaders, and to your prayer and financial partners, and we thank you for grounding this request in the Word of God.

We love your heart that looks to the Lord and His Word rather than the noise and pollution of the world, for as it is written, To the law and to the testimony, if they do not speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them Isaiah 8:20, and Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him 1 John 2:15. We agree that the Scripture is our sure foundation and final authority, for Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17, and Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path Psalm 119:105.

We also rejoice that you have come through Jesus Christ, for you rightly remember that He is able also to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them Hebrews 7:25. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We affirm this with you with thanksgiving.

We share your confidence that God still leads His people today. We see in Scripture that God has spoken through dreams to Joseph Matthew 1:20 and to the magi being warned in a dream Matthew 2:12, through visions as with Paul Acts 16:9, through prophecy Numbers 12:6, and that He will pour out His Spirit as Joel prophesied It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions Joel 2:28 which Peter quoted on Pentecost Acts 2:17. We believe He still guides us, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God Romans 8:14, and My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10:27.

At the same time we gently encourage you to keep the Word as the lens by which every other impression is tested. In these last days God has spoken to us by his Son Hebrews 1:2, and while God in His sovereignty can use divine appointments, godly counsel, as in Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory Proverbs 11:14, and even signs in the heavens for seasons Genesis 1:14, we are also called to Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and not to chase signs beyond what God has clearly given, but to seek first His kingdom and righteousness and to understand the signs of the times with discernment as men of Issachar who understood the times, to know what Israel ought to do 1 Chronicles 12:32. Every dream, vision, prophecy, or sense of leading must be weighed against Scripture and submitted to godly counsel, lest we be deceived, for we know the evil one can disguise himself and we pray as you did that we would not be led astray Matthew 24:4.

We stand with you in faith that nothing is impossible with God Luke 1:37 and that with God all things are possible Mark 10:27, and that His arm is not shortened that it cannot save Isaiah 59:1.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are not silent, that You have spoken through Your Word, through Your Son, and by Your Holy Spirit who dwells in us. We ask that You would give this husband, his wife, their children, families, friends, churches, pastors, leaders, and all their prayer and ministry partners a deep hunger for Your Word and a clear ear to hear the Shepherd's voice. Lead them by Your Spirit into all truth and into the specific will You have for them in Christ Jesus.

Grant them wisdom and discernment to test every spirit whether it is of God 1 John 4:1, to hold fast to what is true and to reject what is false. If it is Your will, confirm Your direction through the faithful preaching of the Word, through godly counsel, through divine appointments, and even through dreams and visions as You have done in ancient times, but always in a way that exalts Christ and aligns with Scripture. Let Your peace guard their hearts, for You have promised In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Keep them from temptation, from evil, from deception, from fear, and from the evil one Matthew 6:13, John 17:15, and deliver them from every evil work 2 Thessalonians 3:3. Help them to walk as children of light, for The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it John 1:5, and to remember that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted Job 42:2. We ask that You would make Your paths known to them and guide them in Your truth, and that they would seek You with all their heart, knowing You will be found by them Jeremiah 29:13.

We thank You in advance, believing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive Mark 11:24, for all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us 2 Corinthians 1:20. We entrust this family and their partners to Your faithful hands, asking that You would be glorified in their lives and that Your will be done. In the name of Jesus, the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness Revelation 3:14, we pray. Amen.

We hear your longing to hear the Lord clearly, not just for yourself but for your wife, your family, your church and your prayer and financial partners. That desire to stay close to Him and to be led by Him in both ordinary and unusual ways is a good and humble place to be, and we are glad to stand with you in it.

We join you in asking the Holy Spirit to keep guiding all of you. We have found it helps to remember that His work holds together in balance. He brings power, He brings truth that never pulls against what He has already said in Scripture, and He brings fruit like love and peace that shows over time. When an impression, dream, or word through someone else comes, bringing it back to the Bible and to a couple of trusted, godly counselors for prayerful weighing can bring clarity and protect from confusion.

A simple step that often helps couples and ministry partners is to keep a steady, unhurried time in the Word together and to note what you sense the Lord highlighting, then talk and pray it through with those counselors before taking big steps. That shared process often makes His direction clearer.

Father, we bring this husband and his wife, their children, friends, leaders and partners before You. Draw each one close to Jesus, guard them from deception and fear, give wisdom for every decision before them and let Your peace rest on their homes and churches. Lead them step by step as they seek You. In Jesus' name, amen.

The longing expressed in your prayer that the Holy Spirit should speak and guide is itself a gracious work of that same Spirit, for only that which is born of the Spirit is spirit, and no man is ever saved or led apart from His divine influence. You do well to look to the Word, for to the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them, and the Holy Spirit ever glorifies Christ. He takes the veil away from the heart and then we see Christ, He receives of Mine and shows it unto you. When you are dealing with the things of Christ, you are on Holy Spirit ground, you are following the track of the Holy Spirit, for He deals not with mere curiosity or with signs sought for their own sake, but with Christ and Him crucified.

You ask that He would speak by the Bible, by messages from the pulpit, by divine appointments and godly counsel, and even by dreams and visions as in ancient times. Remember that the Spirit is not merely a sacred influence, but a Divine Person, very God of very God, to be reverenced with delight and yet with trembling. He does indeed have frequent dealings with spiritual minds and imparts to them His power, and without the use of sounds He speaks in our hearts, so that behind you you hear a voice saying, This is the way, walk ye in it. Yet His ordinary and most sure way is by the Scriptures, and if any venture to add to God's Word or to take from it he does so at great peril. The Spirit never contradicts the Word He inspired, and that is not of the Holy Spirit which detracts from the power of Christ as Savior, for the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ.

Therefore pray in the Holy Spirit, and through the Holy Spirit, which is to pray in His power. The carnal mind knows nothing of this, but regenerate men who are born of the Spirit and live in the Spirit world are cognizant of communications between their spirits and the Holy Spirit who is now resident in the midst of the Church of God. He is actually willing to help you to pray, He will tell you how to pray, and He will enable you to see Christ as He reveals Him. Live in the Holy Spirit, give yourselves up fully to His divine anointing and bedewing, and you will not have to say, I hardly know whether there be any Holy Spirit, for He dwells with you and shall be in you.

Take heed also that you grieve not the Holy Spirit, for He is grieved by our unbelief, by open sin which brings disgrace upon our religion, by bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil speaking and malice. If we commit sin and tempt others by evil example, that sacred dove mourns, and though He is given to abide with us forever and will not utterly be taken from the true child of God, yet to grieve Him is to lose all Christian joy, the light is taken and you stumble in darkness, and the very means of grace which once were delight have no music in your ears. For the possession of the Holy Spirit is God's seal set upon you that you are His child, and if you grieve the Spirit you lose the comfort of that seal as though the seal were torn away.

So I commend you and your wife, your children, your household, your friends, your pastors and leaders, your churches and your prayer and financial partners to that gracious Spirit and to Christ who ever lives to make intercession for you. May the Lord awaken every mental power to love God whom once the natural heart hated, may He make you holy, for a holy man is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit, and may He keep you from temptation, from evil, from deception and from the evil one, as you have asked according to Luke 11:4 and Matthew 6:13 and John 17:15. May you with thanksgiving make your requests known unto God, and may the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. May you be led by the Spirit as sons of God, and may all your seeking after guidance be tested by the Word and centered upon Christ, in whom all the promises of God are Yea and Amen.

May the Lord grant that you may not grieve the Holy Spirit, but walk in Him, pray in Him, and rejoice in Christ whom He reveals. Amen.
