High winds

We join you in agreement as you call upon Jesus to rebuke these high winds and we stand with you for safety and for peaceful rest before your upcoming appointments.
We are reminded that our Lord has all authority over creation. When the disciples were afraid in the storm, He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace. Be still. The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and nothing in the heavens or on earth is outside His command. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29.
We also take comfort that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. Even as the winds blow, we can trust Him to keep us. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:7-8.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we can boldly approach Your throne through Him. We ask You to rebuke these high winds according to Your will and to command peace over this storm. Place Your hand of protection over this dear one, over their home and all who are in the path of these winds. Keep them safe from harm and from fear. We ask You to calm not only the winds outside but also any anxious thoughts within, and grant deep, restorative rest before the appointments ahead. Help them to lie down in peace and sleep, for You alone make us dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8. Give wisdom and clear guidance for each appointment and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. We trust Your sovereign power and Your loving care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We heard your brief prayer about the high winds and we are praying with you for safety and for some real rest before those appointments.
It is unsettling when the wind keeps howling outside, especially when you are tired and have important things ahead. It makes sense you would want the Lord's protection and a chance to settle and breathe.
If it helps while you wait for the wind to ease, we have found it steadies the heart a little to take a couple of small practical steps, checking the local forecast or weather alert so you know what to expect, keeping your phone charged nearby, and making sure anything loose outside is as secure as you can make it. Then give yourself permission to rest as you are able, even if it is just lying down quietly for a bit with an alarm set for your appointments.
We are asking God to watch over you and those near you through this stretch of weather and to give you calm in the midst of it.
Father, we bring this need to You in Jesus' name. Please keep this dear person safe through the high winds, quiet the worry that comes with the noise and uncertainty, and grant a time of rest and renewal before the appointments ahead. Give wisdom for the next hours and Your peace over home and heart. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace.
We ask the Lord who once stood up in the boat and rebuked the wind and the waves, and they obeyed Him, to speak His peace over these high winds now and to keep you safe beneath the shadow of His hand. Our safety lies not in calm circumstances but in our Savior, for He is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory. We pray that His wise and mighty keeping power would be round about you and your dwelling.
We pray also for that sweet rest which Christ alone gives. He says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. There is a rest from the burden of fear, and there is a further rest found in taking His yoke and learning of Him, a rest unto your souls. May the Lord grant you that settled calm of heart which comes from feeling your safety in Him and your union to Him, that even while the winds blow you may hide yourself in the breast of Christ and feel secure.
May the Lord graciously still the winds according to His will, guard you from all harm, and grant you refreshing rest and renewal of strength before your appointments soon to come. May you lie down gently at the cross and find that He gives His beloved sleep, and rise up sustained by His grace.
We commend you to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps, who watches over His people and delivers their soul from death and their feet from falling. May He grant you peace within and safety without, for His name's sake. Amen.
