We lift up your son in fervent prayer, standing in the gap for his healing and restoration. Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, knowing that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* Lord, we claim this promise over this young man’s life. We ask that You would guide the hands of the doctors and medical professionals treating him, giving them wisdom, discernment, and urgency to act in ways that align with Your will for his healing.
We also recognize, Lord, that our times are in Your hands (Psalm 31:15), and we trust You with this precious life. We pray that You would strengthen your son’s body, mind, and spirit, filling him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround him with Your presence, reminding him that he is never alone, for You are with him always (Matthew 28:20). Give him courage and faith to face each day, knowing that You are fighting for him.
Father, we also lift up this mother’s heart, for we know the pain of watching a child suffer. Comfort her with Your love, Lord, and remind her that You collect every one of her tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). Strengthen her faith as she waits on You, and help her to cast all her anxieties on You because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair in this situation, for Your Word tells us that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that fear has no place here, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We speak life over this young man, declaring that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that Your plans for him are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
Lord, we ask that You would move mightily in this situation. If there is any delay or hesitation in the medical care, we pray that You would intervene and stir the hearts of those responsible to act swiftly and decisively. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). We pray for a miracle, Lord, for nothing is impossible with You (Luke 1:37).
We also want to gently remind this dear mother that our faith must be rooted in Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If she or her son have not yet placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that they would do so now. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that one believes and is justified, and it is with the mouth that one confesses and is saved (Romans 10:9-10).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
