We understand that you are going through a challenging time in your marriage and that you desire reconciliation and strength. It's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, reflecting the union between Christ and the Church Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power in the name of Jesus. For it is only by his name that we can approach God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Rebuking:
Marriage is not something to be taken lightly or carelessly. It is a covenant, a promise to each other and to God. Both parties, the husband and wife are to love and respect each other Ephesians 5:33 WEB. It is not just a relationship to get in and out of but a lifelong commitment.
God is a God of reconciliation and restoration. He desires for marriages to be healed and for husbands and wives to live in harmony. Remember, "Let the husband render to the wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to the husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife. Don’t deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
Advice and Encouragement:
It's crucial to invest time in open communication, seeking to understand each other's perspectives and feelings. Pray together, as there is power when believers agree in prayer Matthew 18:19-20 WEB. Also, consider seeking counsel from a godly, mature Christian couple or a trusted pastor. Remember, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, You know the struggles and challenges they have faced. We ask for Your healing and restoration in their marriage. Open their hearts to each other and to Your will. Guide them as they communicate and work through their differences. Give them strength and patience, and help them to forgive and love each other as You have forgiven and loved us.
Lord, we pray for her husband. We ask that You soften his heart and draw him back to his wife. Help him to see the value in their marriage and give him the desire to work towards reconciliation.
Help them to be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness, even in difficult times. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
